      Bradley Manning Court Martial Transcripts

At the beginning of June trial began for whistle-blower Bradley Manning. You can read the stenographer's transcripts here: » Stenographer transcripts from the court martial Bradley Manning Support Network

I've read the opening statements so far and it looks like the defense is arguing that Manning carefully selected what he leaked to ensure no useful information fell into enemy hands while the prosecution is arguing he just did mass dumps of as much information to enemy hands as possible. I'm not sure how good this looks for Manning. I do not believe he is guilty of treason, at least not to the American People (but perhaps to a parasite masquerading as a government), however, he's probably going to go down for violating his non-disclosure agreement. It's going to be months before this trial is over though, and then there will likely be years of appeals. So who knows. If this judge finds him guilty of treason though, it will be the biggest setback for democracy since corporations were declared people.

Not religious, but I've been praying for Manning for the last little while. How this can go by unnoticed by the genera public and how people can actually label him as a traitor is fucking ridiculous.

Legally, he's guilty and will be hard to defend. The judges work for the government and are paid to defend the law, even if it is wrong or messed up. I don't think this will end well.

I said something about it on Facebook and the only response I got was "Who cares?". I think they've noticed, they just really don't care.

It's scary to think that most of these people will be able to vote in a couple years.

Ttheir parents do, and they're just as bad.

He's only guilty of violating a non-disclosure agreement. He did not dump data en masse directly to the enemy, as is being argued. He collected data relevant to the protection of our democracy such as information on the Guantanamo Detainees or he leaked videos to the UN that they had already requested but the Pentagon claimed they couldn't be found.

This is patriotism at its finest. The prosecution can only argue he abetted the enemy if Wikileaks were declared a terrorist organization, and if so there's nothing legally standing between our treatment of journalists and China's or Cuba's.
