      Saving the Planet

So, rather than debate about whether or not we are burning the planet to the ground, I came up with an idea of how to save it, tell me what you guys think.

So, if we can all agree that a manifestation of our rampant abuse and rape of this planet's resources has led to higher CO2 emissions, what does that say about the problem at hand? That we don't have enough plant life, that we are deforesting faster than we can replant trees. Not only that, but with how we live in concrete jungles with all our artificial things, we are making a statement that we are committed to never letting the earth regain enough plant life to restore itself. Either the earth is going to take care of this itself and make us go extinct, or we get smart. Here's where the idea comes in.

Since as bull-headed humans we seem so gung-ho on fighting nature, why not work with it instead? Why not get with the program? What we are doing clearly isn't working, the natural way is what is sustainable, right? It's beating us at surviving, and it's going to unless we make a change of plans. Why do we not learn to manipulate nature to our advantage, like nature has done to us? Nature forms symbiotic bonds with its inhabitants, we have made no attempt to bond back with nature ourselves. Flowers have adapted by becoming pleasing to us, and so they exist longer. Why not form bonds with the rest of the earth? I have seen pictures of chairs formed out of growing trees, why is it we cannot learn to make shelter out of trees and plants that we grow and manipulate? Plants have chosen animals, animals have chosen plants. We are still animals, right? Why not use them to our advantage? We have formed medicines out of herbs and blends of plants for centuries, we have made huts out of mud and clay before. We have used what is naturally around us and that we can help reproduce before, why not now?

This doesn't mean we have to give up technology, not by a long shot. We are intelligent enough to find a way to make it work, but I've never really seen anybody propose the idea that we try and blend technology and nature together, rather than try and beat it in some sort of arms race to doomsday. What do you guys think? I do not have a specific plan in mind, but my foot's in the door. Now that I am open to the idea, I can start to brainstorm, and maybe I can get enough others to brainstorm as well that we can actually not die off.

Let's face it, if we destroy this planet and turn it into a husk of its former self, what's the point of anything? If we can travel into space and find other planets, we will just do the same to them, and as a destructive force, somehow the universe will find a way to wipe us out. Unless we can coexist, we have to be deleted, for the greater good. Otherwise we're just a cancer.

Failure to adapt is what is known as natural selection, let's fucking adapt please. Nature favors change.
