I have always wondered why politicians never act like real people. You know what i\'m talking about. They never actually speak their mind to us. They just tell us what they think we want to hear so they can get elected. Does anybody honestly believe that a rich, white politician gives a crap about poor people and welfare? He\'s just trying to get elected.

This pattern of dodging topics sticks with politicians long after the election race. Just look at President Bush. Why doesnt he just say \"Everybody, BACK OFF. I have a plan to defeat terrorism, but i cant just tell it to you so LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!\" If i were the pres., i would do that. (please dont rant on this thread about how the pres. doesnt have a plan)

So i have 2 questions. The first is, why do politicians treat us like a parent treats their 4 year old? Do they think we are somehow lesser beings?

The second, are politicians all over the world like this? Just in a democracy?

Look, i know politicians have to be secretive about their plans and intel., especially with our communicative abilities. But shouldnt there be a limit to how much they can do that?

If it were up to me, i would make it ILLEGAL to make heafty promises, get elected, and just blatently ignore those promises. Maybe then politicians would act a little more like real people than, well......politicians.
