I get this feeling pretty bad actually. I feel almost like a lion in a cage; like a warrior in a business office lol. A passion that can consume the world but there is no where to turn it but on myself. It's like pulling the pin out of a grenade but there is nowhere to throw it. |

Sure. The "Feel like an unique little snowflake"-Gene is build into every humans DNA. I am sure it has some role in survival or something. |

I once felt I had some sort of purpose. I once lived with meaning and purpose. I once thought I had the power to make a real difference. Now? I don't know. I don't feel special anymore. I just "am". Right now, my life is just something that simply "is", a journey to who-knows-where. I have no real complaints or regrets; I only wish I had some idea where all of this is headed. |

One of the most difficult things I've had to do is accept that as far as I can tell, I'm not meant for anything - not stopping there, but even that everything else also isn't meant innately for anything. Nowadays I see the universe as a giant, elaborate stage with a zillion contextless props, and it's a human being's duty to invent a context between them all and with them make a meaning for himself. Not because the universe compels him to, but because he'd die of boredom, despondency, and depression without it. |

Yeah I get this a lot. Like this feeling that nothing matters because we are so small it terms of the Universe. I have this feeling that I just can't shake. I look at myself and I dont see a future. Its really unsettling. I'm a pretty successful person. I'm smart and go to a good school, but when I take a deep look insde myself I see nothing. Maybe thats just my uncertainty for what I want to be once I get outta college. Eh, who knows. |

Why does it seem so hard to wake up now and see who we really are?
I don't insignificence I feel wonder and awe. |

its great and all that someone else understands what i mean...but that hasnt really answered my question at all......does it mean anything....could it mean anything....or is it simply just a feeling??? |

Sure it means something. It means you can do something really important with your life. And really you have two choices you can go with the feeling and do your best to try and do something or you can just ignore it and go on with your life. Most people are kind of lazy and decide to ignore the feeling. |

Next time u r in a lucid dream, summon a magic mirror that shows u who you truly are. (A suggestion) |

I'm 20, and when I think about the future, I just want to do something important in a good way. I don't really care what right now, but as long as it benefits mankind, I can die in peace. Engineering isn't a bad way to reach that goal. So I think I've set myself up for opportunities. |

Are you talking about a belief in destiny? Everyone secretly has that feeling, and destiny encompasses everything from small to large, and believes they hold an integral position. But the universe, even the world, is an immense place. It's like being a single grain of sand on a vast beach. Though it's possible to make a difference in the world if you try, it won't be easy. You are what you make of yourself. Your destiny is based on what you do, and the decisions you make, good or bad. |
