I just figured I'd get some members opinions on here. After a chat with wer about it, I figured I'd see what you all think. I've got no clue really. I haven't even got a guess per se. Maybe you all have some sort of intelligent guess about it? |

Memories are stored in the brain as a chemical signature of a combination of sound, sight, smell, feel, etc.. If you encounter a situation extremely similar or identical situation, your brain searches itself and finds that same/very similar chemical signature (a natural survival reaction) |

What is deja vu? |

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
If you're literally asking because you don't know, it's hard to explain, Universal. It's like when you see something, and you could swear and be totally positive that you've seen it before. I was watching a TV show today, and suddenly it felt very familiar. Then I could know exactly what was going to happen next in the show as though I had seen it before. But I never watch any of the science channel documentaries, or just documentaries in general. |

I was joking. I asked the question twice. I have experienced it a bunch, but I don't experience it as much as I used to. But when I have it now, it is far more intense than it used to be. I think it is an incredible experience. I wish I could find a way to have intense deja vu for an hour at a time. |

There have been a few studies about deja-vu. I read it in a psychology article. I forgot what it was exactly, but Deja-Vu's are just your mind making a mistake. All it really takes to have a deja-vu is to have some 'recognition' (the ones that say "hey man, we recognize something") nerve cells to be stimulated. |

“What a peculiar privilege has this little agitation of the brain which we call 'thought'” -Hume
At times I have recognized deja vu as something I had seen in a precognitive dream; it feels like deja vu at first, but then I remember the dream and the contents. |
