Ya kno, I came out to a close friend last night, and she took it really well and she was like so that explains why your so godamn fragile and sensitive!

why is it that guy friends react the worst? i haven't told any of my guy friends im bi but i sure as hell know they wont take it as lightly as girls do.

Girls are so much more open, and forgiving and compassionate, so easy to talk to and easy to get along with, some guys are a PAIN in the ass to get along with....

I think it's more of a matter of it being awkward than anything else. Think about it, you're a guy, they're a guy, you come out and say you're gay, right away they're going to feel a bit deceived: How could I not know? Does he find me attractive in THAT way? Has he been thinking of me in THAT way? All those gay jokes and derogatory statements he's heard me say... etc, etc.

Girls won't have this awkwardness, because no matter what, you're still the opposite sex. If anything, being gay brings you a little bit closer to them - girls appreciate gay guys in a totally different than a straight guy would appreciate a gay woman. Why? Guys are mostly thinking about sex and the physical aspect. Girls are more emotional.

some guys are a PAIN in the ass to get along with....
is there an intended pun there or what?!

the pun? LOL i didn't even notice i made 1! but yea it wasn't meant to be a pun

now it sorta makes sense, thanks, but yea since im bi, wouldn't it be easier telling a guy im bi instead of gay?

cause if im bi they know deep down you still like women and its more socially acceptable?

anyways so yea, slowly but surely im telling everyone i feel comfortable telling, and you know what?

It feels great to finally put it out there and off my godamn shoulders!!!!

all that hiding all these years, can make you go mad

the hardest thing though, is going to be telling my direct family.

I see whatcha mean though how a friend would go, omg does he like me? eww! or w/e

but yea when i do tell my guy friends 1 day, im going to be straight out honest and say, IM NOT ATTRACTED TO YOU...lol

On a sidenote, is it really viable to be a bisexual man? I can`t really see how a heterosexual woman would be interested in a bisexual man, especially a very feminine one, it kind of goes against the "big burly manly provider" image...

Well, the whole bi/gay is just a matter of definition. Sure, bi means attraction to both men and women, and gay is only to same sex. But, to a straight person (well, at least from my point of view), there is really only two catagories - straight and gay. Bi essentially becomes a sub-category of gay. Why not a sub-category of straight? Well, that's nature I guess, not up to me. You got male/female, yin/yang, top/bottom, left/right, etc...

ut yea when i do tell my guy friends 1 day, im going to be straight out honest and say, IM NOT ATTRACTED TO YOU...lol
Heh, yah and be sure to point out that you're actually a great asset to them - chicks dig gay/bi guys, sooo....... PLUS, when you're hangin' out with them that means the possibility of one less person to compete with

      well im not that feminine!

and i can't exactly shut off the other half of me that likes guy and just ignore it and pretend im straight and be with women, thatd kill me inside.

and I don't think most girls mind, my ex's didn't care and neither would future gf's.

But yea, occasionally, i can be the big strong guy, but at times i need a big strong guy, depends on my mood, some moods i really wish i had a girl, some i wish i had a guy..heh

Good thing not all girls are interested in that "big burly manly provider" image then.

yea, i agree, i know all girls aren't attracted to big dumb masculine guys
      (no offense lol)

I have bumped into quite a few women who dream of dating a guy who is compassionate and understanding and listens and cares and is open-minded and kind hearted, and I made their dreams come true

the only problem though is, i get too attached sometimes and become too female-like myself, which in turn drives away some girls..lol...thats where hawt guys come into the picture!

Yeah, I don't mean the stereotypical football player style guy, I just know women like their guys to be "manly". And every woman, once in a while, likes to see their guy be especially macho/masculine...

I don't mean the stereotypical football player either. I mean not every woman likes their guy to be 'manly.' Considering the amount of women alive at this very moment, I'm more apt to disagree with your statement since judging the personal taste of so many people when you aren't even the same gender would be difficult at least.

Of course there must be some (I mean some women like horses and stuff ), I'm just saying that femininity in men isn't generally attractive to women.

I agree, in general it isn't, but you didn't say in general at first. I was just pointing out that with how varied a person's tastes can be, there has to be some woman out there that just loves her guy to be all girly for whatever reason.

Yep, homosexuals are sure to pass on that gene. [/sarcasm]

Fruit flies are also very different from humans.

For the above reasons, I don't think the study will satisfy a large population, and it probably (read: definetely) won't sway congressmen. I am playing devil's advocate here--I really do think it's genetic, but I was hoping to find stronger evidence here.

Yeah, because there is no chance in any society they'd hide it and lie to themselves, only to go on and marry and have a kid. There is also no chance they'd donate sperm, either. *nod*

I wonder if it's a gene we all carry, and perhaps certain chemicals found in plastics (or perhaps bioaccumulation of pesticides) are turning it on. After all, our closest relative the bonobo (shares the same amount of DNA that chimpanzees share with us) screw with each other multiple times a day, regardless of gender.

      Also, I edited my post.

I don't think that survey serves for matters of the causes of homosexuality in humans, but it definitely shows that homosexuality is a natural thing, and happens naturally in many species. It's not only a deviated human thing, if you get my point.

I wonder when people will realise that homosexuality is an orientation and not a choice, and if it were a choice, high chances are there would be no gays in the world, since it's so ostracised by society today.

But then again, some people are idiots. "All boys use hats. Jeanny uses a hat. Therefore, Jeanny is a boy." <== Perfectly logical for some people, as in, stupic teachers in a catholic school -.-

I wonder when we'll leave the myth era.

Kromoh, stereotypes will really never go away unless people grow up, which I can't see happening in the next 100 generations lol
