Sarah Palin, a Miracle for Republicans.

Of course most of us (by us I mean rational people), have the same views of the Republican party before Governor Palin was elected Vice presidential candidate. As we can see from the very poll on this board senator Palin was deemed a failure, and was a poor exuse for McCain's lack of extended demographics.

The Republican party has succeded in a political miracle. Not by the works of a presidential candite who seemed to be mundane, and just.. well old.. But rather the Vice Presidential candidate. At first she recieved rather bad perception.. Unexperienced, only 2 years of experience, etc. But issues popped up. The big issue, her teenage daughter having a baby.

What did this one issue do? There hasn't been so much publicity for a vice president in at least 100 years. Biden was barely on the news and media was reporting stories such as "Should the teen pregnancy issue be brought up!?" Before you knew it she gave her first speech on the GOP. Her speech was written by the same writers that wrote George Bush's speech. The next morning new everywhere proclaiming "Perfect populist pitch!" "Sways clinton voters!"

So did the republican party pick Palin, because they knew she would be in constant media? Did they know almost the same number of people watched the Palin speech, as the Obama speech? In short Palin gave the people what they wanted, and on the turn of the century it seems a vice presidencial candidate has connected the dots for the republicans.. The polls are even now, the Republicans actually have a chance.. She gave the people what they wanted, creationalism in school, the clinton appeal, the "perfect populist pitch". Did the republicans give the people what they wanted, or what they needed? Either way a Republican miracle.

Um...dude...just because she's getting a hell of a lot of attention doesn't mean she's getting "wanted" attention. You can get attention two ways...fame, and infamy. Yes she's getting a lot of coverage but 95% of it is about how inexperienced she is and how her daughter's having a child...not stuff about what she plans to do. And as you said earlier, the polls don't lie.

I'm not pro republican.. I'm a liberal, but since Governor Palin made her speech, there hasnt been such a jump in the "official" polls. Many clinton supporters have been jumping on the republican boat..

I'm just stating the need for a democratic stragety. In democracies its not the best president who wins.. its the one that gives the people what it wants, the one who can branch out to different collective identites of the country.. The needs of a country will catch up, but the social, and nationalistic needs can cause an ignorance for a bland, good leader. Think Germany in the 1940s.. it was a democracy that chose a dictator, who in turn cased the largest afflication of human loss in history..

The democratic party needs Biden to step up, this election is very unpredictable.

Did you see her speech in the Republican convention? If not you should check it out on Youtube.. She made vaild points regarding her experience against Obama's, and she even persuaded my mother, who is a democrat..

No I didn't watch her speech...I didn't want to that prick. Anyway, McCain and Obama are debating on the 26th at Ole Miss University in my home state of Mississippi. I can't wait to see Obama rip that POW geriatric to shreds.

McCain is such a worse on the spot speaker than Obama, so hopefully Obama will expose him. But then again McCain isn't going to come unprepared, we can only hope..

I think she will come crashing down in a few weeks, when people realize what a Christian-fundamentalist censoring vile woman she is. At least, 'come crashing down' in regards to the doubtful, half-inteligent voters that havn't made up their mind yet.

For the Christian-fundamentalists that make up 75% of voters that voted for Bush and will vote McCain, she's a angel send by Mr. Vengeful, hateful, censorship-lovin' god.

I'm thinking you didn't see her speech, it was very powerful even by my standards. My mom was thinking of voting for her, and she was a clinton supporter. Its a very big vote you can count on, seeing how clinton supporters are around 20% of nations voting spectrum..

Lol, my mother who is also a democrat liked Palin's speech as well, I watched some of the speech, mainly the beginning, but I don't think the speech said anything new about her, besides the fact that she is a good speaker, I wasn't aware that the whole speech was written by somebody else, I don't know how normal it is for that to happen (I'm not that political) but no matter how the speech is delivered it wouldn't affect me outside the issues. I'm a bit worried my mom might actually switch and vote for Mcbush, but that is still unlikely. And all the polls I've seen have Obama in a slight lead, so I'm somewhat confident he will win.

Just wait till the two nominees face off and debate each other. Public speaking is Obama's strong suit, not McCain's.

I hear this alot...my coworkers said that they were going to go with Obama before hearing Palin speak. I don't want that devil witch of a woman to put a spell on my ears! I'm not listening to her! She's the devil and is the biblical anti christ the bible talks about. I tell ya she's bewitching people's ears!! Don't listen to her and repent, if you love God and don't want to go to hell...vote Obama.

Hitler's speech was powerful to the nazi germans and look how their country ended. Don't make your mind up for this chick just because her speech was "powerful" to you. If you want to defend the republican party, go for it but think more into it.

We aren't debating you.. what I wrote was an unbiased article.. not an opinion on her. I guess the American people love a anti-christ.. and a Republican demon. We are conversing how the people are responding to the speech, and trust me your not influencing anybody.. perhaps make solid hard facts?

You forgot that she likes to fire librarians that won't ban books from public libraries because they are 'socially and morally unsound'. Personally, I'd like to see what these books are, title and author.

Racism is discriminating a particular group of people based on their beliefs or creed. But more informally discriminating against someone for something they cannot change, such as those who are handicapped, black, or female.

At least thats what most modern US laws on discrimination affirm.

hmm by racism im using it in the broad definition of the word. I just cant stand how they make it seem like its ok to hate gay people and its not the same as hating, for example, jews.
