Woah! self-projection, that's a 4 syllable word! Be careful using it seeing as you're not accustomed to using words that are over 2 syllables. Kind of off topic of whatever you're all rambling about, but to answer the OP:

There is actually a lot more space stuff in the media. We're being conditioned for the upcoming human moon base/mars missions. These things are going to cost incredible amounts of money, and might take some human lives. I guess they're trying to bring back the wonder that our parents felt about space (which led to the hugely popular lunar missions). If they didn't give us all space-wanderlust there would be no one to silence the people complaining about the government wasting precious money on bullshit.


As for all the crackpot alien stuff -- thats been around for decades. It might be being heightened due to the recent outer space saturation, or something. Who knows.
