Exclamation Dear Americans, pull up a chair and chat with me.

I'm currently watching CNN (I know I say that alot ) and shit just went from bad to worse. The proposed bailout of AIG, Lehman brothers, Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac etc. will cost an estimated 1,000,000,000,000 (one-trillion dollars). Michael Wolf ran the stats and said it would cost every man, woman, and child living in America about $3,500. Or to put it in a different perspective...that's how much you'll be short over your annual paycheck. Do you think this will ultimately help America? So far the reactions/responses from the public are mixed. But just to throw salt on a wound...America is comprised of tens of millions of people who are under the age of 18 who simply cannot afford to pay that money (let alone have jobs). Which is why that $3,500...will probably triple and trickle up to the adults. If you listen to Dave Ramsey (Financial Guru) you know that he stresses the importance of having an emergency fund. I asked my family yesterday if they had emergency funds to prepare for what CNN's Erica called (America's financial 9/11). They said no. In the book Why We Want You To Be Rich, Donald J. Trump and Robert T. Kiyosaki told us that this would happen. They predicted it would get worse and said that the American economy would probably collapse well before 2,020. And think about this...The baby boomer's are going to retire soon and 85% of them don't have enough money saved for their retirement. Not to mention the federal government can't take care of them like the baby boomers naively believe they can seeing as social security, medicare and medicaid are on a fast path to bankruptcy. I digress so let me get to my question...what will YOU do? Are you prepared for the free world's financial meltdown? Are you naively believing your job is secure or do you have a business of your own (or are making arrangements to start one). Now would be a great time to educate yourselves on what's going on and how you can flourish financially in such a time as this. I was a consultant for a large privately owned company before leaving about a year ago. I just received word that the company itself is shutting down cafe's they started, owned, and operated throughout the country because of the state of the economy. That really hit home. I'm not trying to scare you...I want those who don't know how bad this is to wake themselves up from their bubbles of comfort and ignorance they've encapsulated themselves in and DO something. This might be the best time to follow your dreams and passions...so tell me your thoughts, share your ideas and tell me what you have done and/or what you are doing to prepare not only yourself but your loved ones as well

but im confused...are they literally going to take more from my paycheck then? O_o is that legal?

the web bots said that around sept. 22 we would see a prelude to the month of october, a month of great change felt around the world. the web bots primary function was to predict the stock market.

That's not what he meant. He meant that the average effect of unemployment (and other things) will be -$3,500 per person (or whatever the number was). So one person might lose the job, another might not get an expected raise, but others will no doubt gain from this. But the average is a certain net decrease in annual income.

      So wait.

There's this huge, glaring problem in our economy's structure, that is going to repeat a huge collapse, again, and we still aren't going to change the system?

      Wat?

      Exactly.

It happened in 1929, too, and the government saw it coming, and did nothing. As the depression got worse and worse and worse, Hoover continued to have blind faith in a capitalist system that allowed the rich to control the economy, who did nothing to help. He begged them, and they did nothing. He bailed them out of all the problems the depression brought big businesses and industrial centers, but i return they did nothing for the American people as they lost their houses and began to starve.

You want to know what's going to happen, study history. Those in power did nothing, absolutely nothing, util finally the new elections came along and FDR put together a task force to incorporate socialism and basically directly help the people instead of hoping the owners/haves would. The same is going to have to done again, if not, then the american economy really will collapse.

The problem is, every single politician is bought out. Obama, McCain, yeah we're screwed this time around because there is absolutely no one who plans to incorporate socialist reform. With capitalism, we're a train heading into a wall

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

As I read the OP, turned on the tv to CNN and it was talking just about this.

By the way, what's the deal with all the "invest in Korea" ads?

I've been hearing that SS won't be an issue until mid-century or so. What's up with that? Does anyone know the actual state of the fund after all the pilfering that's been going on?

Otherwise, yeah, one trillion. Lovely. Can't. Sentences. Form. Yet.

Conspiracy? What about what I said was reminiscent of a conspiracy theory? I think you should learn the clear difference between likely possibilities and conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories are things which don't get much air time...THIS however is something that (if you watch the news at all) is all over the news. And they are NOT sugar-coating the situation. I think you really should read what I said instead of writing it off as a conspiracy theory, your post would be much more appreciated instead of dipping your two cents in without knowing what the real subject matter is. And yes, you are right, the US is in trillions of dollars of debt already. But just the same, there's nothing "+little" about 12 zeroes my friend, nothing. But if you feel that way about it, you're more than welcome to take care of the bill for us. We'd be much obliged.

What's so good about Canada? (no offense to any canadians)

You guys are going to be part of the US and Mexico soon anyway.

Look up the secret deal bush and the two respective presidents of mexico and canada signed without the permission of their respective parliaments/congress

Security and prosperity act, if I remember thats what it was called...

Doesn't matter.... If they incorperate socialized health care from them here, then I'll stay. Or move to Japan.

Ah... you've been brainwashed by the American government to think that anything socialized will lead us into some kind of communist country. Well, look around... the police department, postal service, and fire department have all been socialized. Doesn't seem so bad now, does it?

how can i be brainwashed against socialism in a government which promotes socialism?

2nd, im not brainwashed by anything. If anyone is brainwashed its the masses to believe society has become to complex for us to govern ourselves...we don't need 1,000 departments of this and that to govern ourselves...its a blatant lie that socialism will fix anything.

Maybe, because from what I remember the constitution gave us strict orders to preserve the government as it was, a SMALL government with no departments and no limits to individual liberty.

But of course, nobody gives a shit about the constitution anymore, they claim its outdated and doesn't apply to todays society...which is a lame excuse for people in power to continue to abuse their unconstitutional ILLEGAL power.

Me too, America isn't great...really never was imo.

When we did have freedom, we had blacks/asians/gays persecuted because of who they were...and before that we had presidents owning slaves.

      This country is so hypocritical

"all men are created equal" they should of added

"all men are created equal...except blacks, gays, transgendered, and any other minority"
