I want to see the crystals. It is quite peculiar that the meteor exploded. I mean, why would it do that?

Alien bomb, imo. I'd like to see these crystals too. Pretty shady otherwise.

It was probably an alien scientist determined to see his life's work examining the human rectum continue.

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

      Must...protect....life!!!

The Tungsten blast is a very interesting phenomenon. I think that it is a leap to attribute it to an alien saving the planet, but maybe there is more information that we don't know. The whole area does have an amazing high level of minerals since the blast, both common and rare. The plants that grow there now are amazingly healthy and healthy for eating also. They grow super fast and big.

Even though I define anything that has to do with the irrational belief that aliens are visiting us as senseless banter, I've decided to simply move this to ED. Do aliens exist? Almost certainly, do intelligent aliens exist? Almost certainly. Are their aliens with interstellar capabilities? Probably, assuming our current understanding of how the universe works is correct. Does the government cover things up? Absolutely. Did they cover up an alien spacecraft intercepting a speeding comet over Russia in 1908? 100% No. Anyone who passed high school chemistry can tell you that heat can cause etchings in quartz, and the explosion was hot enough to incinerate several acres of timber. That "Ph.D" should be banned from the academy of science. Also, Fox News, is not a credible source, it might as well have been the Inquirer.

As I said, the place was incinerated, ash makes pretty damn good fertilizer.

Greatest part of this article: one of the comments below:

      Nonsense
Everybody knows that aliens only land in England... at least that's what I've learned from watching Doctor Who.

Where is the analysis of these crystals? They've had plenty of time. Makes me think there's something fishy there.

Though it is very easy for me to entertain the thought that a more advanced civilization might use crystals in this manner to hold information.

The only comment I have is, Scientologists galore.
They will be thriving on this one bit of evidence, and many more scientologists will become active. Things like this, is what scares our society or provides them with a different mindset on life that is unknown to us.

I think the greatest fear of a human being is the unknown, and the vast amounts of space. If you let your mind dwell on a topic that you may fear for too long, you may begin thinking very paranoid thoughts. When our society is informed with some kind of news, they go completely berserk. I know that its good to be informed about things like this, however I agree with the government by hiding some factual evidence on these types of topics. For instance, if the world was told in one week the earth was going to explode by a giant meteor what do you think would happen?

I have conjured a theory, that on 2012, maybe the scientists will reveal some kind of secret they have been hiding that may involve some kind of threat to our life as we know it, and the general public will explode. This will cause people to sell their houses, belongings and other types of things. This will cause some kind of disturbance in the stock market, and many people will commit suicide, not wanting to go through what is to come.

I do not believe anything to happen on 2012, but if something did/does happen, I would conclude it to be something like this ^^.

It is a very entertaining article, although excuse my for my french, IT IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT. *ehem*

Or maybe this was all a naturally occurring phenomenon. I think stranger things have happened.

Is that the claim the article made? Because I can't find it.

I don't think they mentioned anything about covering it up.

I don't see why the aliens would save us, but if they did, that would bring up a ton of questions.. Like: Why?
I don't think that it's far-fetched to suggest that it's simply out of the kindness of their hearts. But I think that if they did save us, that it would suggest that they know a lot about Earth, or at least the life on it.

"Russian Scientist: UFO Crashed Into Meteorite to Save Earth"

Wouldn't it make more sense to just say a UFO was crashing to Earth and exploded in mid-air? I guess it is more dramatic if a UFO crashes into a meteorite to save Earth. Drama is good because it plays on people's emotions making them irrational in their thinking and logic...

I seriously doubt the credibility of this Russian scientist. I think he has a human superiority complex, like other species would sacrifice themselves for us?

      Maybe, drunk aliens?

Even if an alien spaceship did crash into a meteorite to save us, why would anyone automatically assume that an alien died to do it?

Any species with the technology to carve rocks, I mean, travel through space, will have automatic probes they could just program a flight path. /:

That he assumes a sacrifice was involved s too presmuptious and hurts his credibility.

      A quote from Wikipedia:

The Tunguska event was a large explosion, possibly caused by a meteoroid or comet, in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia in June 1908. Night skies as far away as London were markedly brighter for several evenings. Unsupported theories regarding the event include the impact of a miniature black hole or large body of antimatter, ball lightning, a test by Nikola Tesla of the apparatus at Wardenclyffe Tower, and a UFO crash.[12][43][44] Another theory is that the explosion was caused by a piece of Biela's Comet from 1883.[45]

So basically, no one knows what cause the Tunguska event.

Keep in mind that the event took place back in 1908, in Russia.

I present an interesting thought experiement of ethics:

      The trolley problem.

Now imagine something similar, except it involves a huge asteroid, a planet with a foreign intelligent lifeform and you controlling the trolley (spaceship) from a remote location.

Do you take action and save the planet, or do you continue without taking action, though saving the people onboard the trolley?
