      How old are you... 17?

Anyhow, I happen to find this fucking incredible. Maybe my goal of dying in space is all the more attainable. Those pictures are like a window into the future - it's kind of scary, to be honest.

I've actually gotten depressed recently because of this...
I'm seeing the birth of it happen before my eyes, but I'm never going to be able to captain my own space cruiser and go to border worlds and be all cool and subversive whilst fighting a tyrannical autocracy.

      He's not equating you're age, he's asking.

Because you are far too young to have such a negative attitude about life.

Yeah, I wasn't equating. I was going to tell you to quit whining.

Think of it this way: If you were born in the space age you'd be just as desensitized to the amazing achievements and high technology as you are to today's modern wonders.

I'm not desensitized to anything. I'm fully aware of how fucking amazing everything is.

$200,000/ticket for a single flight sounds expensive to us common folk, but by space standards that is pretty damn impressive.

Apollo 11 costed $1.1 billion adjusted for inflation.

The Space Shuttle, built with the intention of lowering the cost of space travel, took twenty five years to bring things down to $400 million per launch.

At two hundred seats, the cost of a single Virgin Galactic flight: $40 million.

That cost could fall to $50,000 within fifteen years and a slightly more practical $1,000 by 2030 (conservative estimates). Even if this amounts to little more than the world's most expensive amusement park ride...this is certainly big news.

I would pay a thousand dollars to take a ride. It is just a matter of time for he price to come down and it is likely to be sooner rather than later.

Who told you how long you are "supposed to" live? All that is supposed to happen is what does happen. If you live a thousand years, you were 'supposed to'.

It's funny this has been happening to me more and more.

Just the mere fact that good part of my friends have laptops and wireless internet at home is amazing. When I think just a mere 4-5 years ago those that had internet had it wired and with much (much) less impressive speeds.

My 2 year old laptop is many times better than my first desktop about 10 years ago.

      Etc etc.
      - Are you an idiot?
      - No sir, I'm a dreamer.

I can cross the first item off the list:

      1. Commercial space travel

      2. True Lunar colonization

      3. The Exploration of the galaxy.

Only two more numbers to go! Woot!

Infinitly greater than you are... Damn that missing E.
