They sort of do. Have you ever been to an anti-globalization rally? The 'anarchists' are the best. They throw bricks through windows and dress in red and black. Most of them are pretty peaceful though.

It's probably true. When you gather the 20 biggest asses and morons in the world together in one place, a lot of people get pissed off. Basically its full of people who have caused most of the economic problems around the world. Anyone who is poor, or even close to poor likely has a legitimate beef with most of the people at it. Which is why everyone gets upset.

That and the fact, that its a useless meeting where they just waste money and resources, and need to have army come up to rough up citizens.

What exactly are they meeting for?

A lot of Americans are pissed as hell right now. They'll probably need all that security because people "MAY riot.

They meet every year. Basically all the rich politicians get together to pal around and act like they are working on finding solution to save the world economy.

Oh, ok, Now i see why they have all the security. People are going to be pissed, with all the home foreclosures, money missing from bank accounts, and job losses. I'm wondering whats going to happen.

Seriously you're just taking the piss with these threads now. G20 summits always have protection, we had one in London a few months back which required massive police presence because of huge protests. It's not the end of the world, it's basic fucking law enforcement.

Actually, when it was done for the inaugeration, that was federal property, so Posse Comitatus wouldn't apply in that situation. In this situation, deploying the national guard to perform policing activities in pennsylvania is in direct violation of posse commitatus and therefore is against U.S. law. We have reached an age in which the government acts in direct opposition to law and constitution and absolutely no one does anything about it, and very few people even talk about it.

By the way, that story is almost a month old. Has anyone heard any new developments since the summit started?

The Patriot Act nullified Posse Comitatus, though. So did at least one of Bush's executive orders. That's another reason why I'm pissed.

Bush set the stage for martial law, and now we're going to be getting it with his successor.

Becasue they don't kow that it's against the law, because even if they did most of them would be too damn lazy to do anything about it, that's wthe purpose of reality tv, tabloids, and all these other stupid little distractions made to keep people from realizing what's going on. It's like how cops can voilate people's rights just by them not knowing them, but on a much, much bigger scale.

Some people say the U.S. is on it's way down in the world. I sure hope so, because where we're headed otherwise it's a hell of a lot worse.

The problem is that the US government really does think it owns the world, and that includes owning the American citizens.

I've been reading up on this Posse Comitatus Act. It seems like it was put in place to prevent the federal government from sending law-enforcement troops without the consent of the state governments.

Didn't the recent G-8 in England have a bunch of nutball Brits chanting "RIOT! RIOT! RIOT!" outside the front door of the summit?

A protest march over the G20 summit descended into chaos last night after demonstrators clashed with police.

Activists in Pittsburgh smashed squad car windows, threw bottles at officers and rolled rubbish bins towards them.

Protesters, many of whom wore masks, dark outfits and carried red and black anarchist flags, also set up street barricades using pallets and sheets of corrugated steel.

This is pretty fucking insane. Protesters were tear gassed.
