This is one example, why laissez faire is madness. Reason and logic need to be applied as well. |

First, read this. I saw the video on the news last night but can't find it on youtube. Yearly treatment figures were (on the news) estimated to be around 100,000 USD per year, not the 50 - 75 they say. |

Things are not as they seem

It sounds like its time for one of the supposed philanthropists of the world to step up to the plate. Bill Gates could fund this by skipping breakfast. Too bad the FDA would resist it until its last breath. |

I am pretty sure they would still make a profit from it. Since they would be the first one selling it, people are going to buy it from them before anyone else. Even if other companies copy them, they probably wont be able to produce it on the spot. |
|
The issue is that it would take 100 million dollars to get it through the testing and approval. If anyone shells out that money, then immediately afterward, anyone can profit from their investment, and they will likely never recoup the cost. |

Lets hope for a billionaire to get diagnosed with one of those cancers. |

The cure for cancer... THE cancer that's been number 1 on the list of things to cure (right next to HIV) and no one wants to fund it? |

It shouldn't cost that much to test it. |

The vid said $100 million... |

What is a normal person suppose to do in this situation...=/ |

This is some bullshit. There are kids dying from cancer. But no one wants to fund it. A Billionaire's little piggy bank could defiantly get the testing going. |

Proper clinical trials take place all the time. Why not for this drug? Because it'll net the pharmaceutical companies nothing financially. They are profit driven. Furthermore if they can prevent a natural cure from becoming public, they'll maintain a good deal of their income from cancer patient treatment. It benefits them not just by refraining from funding it, but by preventing it from becoming accessible to the public altogether. |
|
I'm pretty sure that if this medicine is promising enough, it'll get enough funding from the government and other universities. It'd be great publicity for both the universities involved and Canada if they were to discover a cure for cancer. The guy sounded pretty optimistic in both videos. |

wow, that second video glen beck was still on cnn. Havnt heard anything about this until now. Guess the tests still havnt gone through huh? |

Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.
The secret is that nobody wants to have a cure for cancer: they want a treatment. They can't make as much money off of cancer patients that way. |
