      After one month..

I started trying to have lucid dreams since 5 may. After 1 month of doing reality checks everyday, keeping a dream journal, writing down mantras, being confident everynight, Visualizing my dream before I fall asleep, attempting the WBTB Methode.. I still didn't have one :d. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.. Every morning when I wake up I feel stupid why I didn't become lucid after how weird that dream was. There are some mornings I remember 3-4 dreams and other days I remember none/1. I think I need to increase my awareness in real life, but how do I do that? Anyone got tips to get lucid with Reality checks/MILD/WBTB? And I also wanna know how long it took for you to have your first Lucid dream? I won't give up though. ^^

Sorry for my bad english btw ;D.

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

1 month is not that long, for some it may take lot longer. Try not to feel down in the mornig when you didn't get lucid. Insted, feel happy about the interesting dreams you have. Say thank you for the great dreams, can I please have a lucid? Sounds funny, but it may work. You'll be talking to your subconscience, to your higher self. Sometimes it just needs to hear from you what you expect to happen so it can help you achieve it.

You are most likely not doing anything wrong. But just in case, check out this tut and see, if there is anything you can tweak or add to your practice.

Another great explanation of awareness technique is in this WILD lesson, but it applies to DILD as well. Rest of the lessons are really great too.

Don't give up, stay positive and it will happen. Happy dreams

In the same boat as you. However, giving up or feeling a lack of confidence can really hurt you. You may be on the verge of lucidity, you never know. Also, trying too hard can also be a problem. Just stick with it. I've been practicing and noticing my dreams are becoming really vivid now, my dream recall is amazing (as compared to when I didn't practice) and I wake up feeling fresher than ever, even wide awake after writing down my dreams in the morning. Keep doing what you are doing, it may take awhile, or it could happen tomorrow, it's the confidence that matters!

Don't just rely on reality checks throughout the day. Build up your self-awareness. Really look at stuff and question it. Try meditation to also build up great self-awareness.

One month is a short time to be practicing something enough that you're good at it. Lack of motivation is the greatest danger to lucidity because it can take months of serious discipline and practice until you start to see real results. Ofcourse it's more easier for some than others. It took me three months before having my first lucid dream which lasted for about five minutes, but the first time you have a lucid dream is all the motivation you need to work toward having a second. Stick with working on your dream recall and identifying recurring dreamsigns. Also, it's not enough to just ask yourself if you're dreaming. I've actually dreamt that i asked myself if i was dreaming and i didn't dawn on me. You need to get into the habit of seriously examining your surroundings and state of mind. Where am I? how did I get here? What was i doing just before this? Keep up the work and it will pay off.

You're probably going to bash me if I said I got my first lucid without practising any methods. Which is er... Today.

But it's no coincidence. It's about time.

I probably became really aware after watching Inception a couple of days ago and kept thinking about the differences between reality and dreams. I was totally mind blown by that movie.
