Hearing trippy music when deeply relaxed?

The title pretty much says it, I got up super duper early and I just now went to lay down and close my eyes, I wasn't in SP but. I was sorta meditating.

After a thought came to me I imagined blackness and then as stream of neon color shot out into nothingness... And I heard peaceful music..

"Just let it drift away... AhhhAhhhAhhhAhhh ahhhhhh....." Again and again... It was REALLY Peaceful.

This ever happened to anyone else?

This almost always happens to me. I will be laying in bed, and I will get a note stuck in my head. And my brain will add to it until I literally have an entire song playing in my head. All original and it sounds fantastic. Everytime I make up a song I my head during deep relaxation I think to myself for a short second, "if only I could find a way to remember everything that's playing and reproduce it"

it's amazing how easy it is for our brains to make things up when were in the proper state. If only we could harness that power of creativity and put it to good use. Actually, speaking of that, I once saw on television a young boy learned to play the accordian because his dead grandfather came to him in a dream and taught him. Now there's some food for thought ahah

      Happy dreaming,

Turns out, our brains are capable of creating extremely vivid auditory-musical hallucinations. It is definitely a form of creativity, but for some people it is the same song every time. Sometimes when people go deaf late in life, repetitive song-hallucinations replace normal hearing. There are even a few effective drug treatments for it.

Yet again, the line between madness and genius is very fine.

This has happened to me I have heard the extremely clear sound of a drop of water splashing.
Another time it was some bizzare baroque-ish music with rap lyrics.

I get hypnagogic hallucinations a few times a week before falling asleep, sometimes it's auditory, sometimes it's visual. An example: I would be lying in bed half awake and I would hear the t.v. and some random infomercial or something, so I would move to turn it off, but it was never on. When I realize it wasn't on, its enough for my brain to wake itself up and the sound stops.

Not sure it has to do with the hallucinations, but I can tell when I'm about to fall asleep every night. I can lay there relaxed, and when my brain goes off on some random tirade I can usually hear things in my head. Ranges from friends saying something, to certain songs. Once this happens, if i dont think about it too much I just fall asleep.

Have you ever heard of synergy? It's when you combine physical senses to create a new sense. Like, some people can hear colors, and others can see music.
In a non-lucid I had a year ago, I heard the coolest, awesomest, trippy disco trance funk track, and all I can remember is the beat, but it was really cool. I haven't heard any lucids since. I can somewhat visualize music so I imagined pink cherry blossom guns shooting into the streets. It was cool.

      I think that's called synesthesia.

Probably same reason you hear trippy music when really high, your brain is thinking slower

I have had this happen to me a few times. My brain produced the most beautiful instrumental music I've ever heard and I know nothing about music or music composition. In fact I can't even read a music note. I remember thinking that I wish I could figure out some way to reproduce what I was hearing.

Yeah this happens to me. A lot of times when I get really stoned before taking a shower, the water starts to sound like a very simple tone with tremolo, or someone chanting.

Basically your brain is addicted to patterns. So much so that if the stimuli that is entering is noisy and random, your brain will make up patterns to fit it. The reason it sounds like music is because our brains are wired to hear music and we naturally expect certain sounds to follow others as a result of this. A good portion of what we perceive is our brain filling in the blanks with what it expects.
