      Question Black,empty nightmar-ish dream...

      Hey,
      Anyone here experienced this before?
I think its a dream, but its empty, total blackness all around...
You can't really see anything, but can feel a great deal of space around you...
To add to that,I sometimes hear screams and a quiet voice...The weird thing about the scream is it seems inside my head and as if it's in a distance...The voice seems to be really quiet, not a whisper, the kind of voice you'd use when one member of the family is asleep...
Maybe this happens in NREM,I'm not sure...
      Any idea what's going on?
      -Sam
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

I usually have the same type of experience of blackness all around me when I am fading out of a lucid dream. The good thing about it is if I try hard enough I can shape the world around me out of the blackness. I would suggest using the empty space around you as a sign that you're dreaming. Then you can try creating whatever you like around you. I think the voices in your head may be because you're so close to waking up that they do sound as if they are right inside your head. At times when I'm on the verge of falling asleep I hear weird voices in my head. I think it's one of the affects of being half asleep.

Yeah, I've gotten that before. Once right after a WILD attempt:

"So I tried to roll out of bed and into a dream, except the dream I rolled into was weird. I rolled out of bed and stood up. I started walking. I couldn't see anything because my eyes were still closed, so I opened them but it was still completely dark. Though I remember something like a very slight fog, or whiteness in the darkness. I then peeled my eyelids back with my fingers, but I still couldn't see. So then I thought "Hey, I wonder what I can feel here" and put my arms out. I found a long, metal rod on the ground and picked it up. But then it felt like it either jerked away from me or someone jerked it away from me. It ended there and I woke up. "

And my dreams used to do that when I was younger, darkness would just start spreading and eventually envelop me. I remember once, I was by my house, out in the street near the curb, it suddenly started getting darker, I had an idea though, I thought maybe I could make it go away if I made myself happy, so I started laughing, trying to make myself feel better. It didn't work and the darkness kept coming. I don't remember why or if it was on purpose but I bent one of my legs under me while still standing up, and it locked there, then I started floating down the street like that, the darkness eventually just closed over me. It was kinda creepy.

I don't think that's what I experienced.....this 'dream' that I was talking about makes absolutely no sense...
      I'm not standing...its like I'm watching without realising(I'm sorry,it's hard to explain...) Its like I don't have a body...
      It's just darkness

By the way,I was attempting WILD and experienced this again while simply lying on by bed with my eyes closed...
This reminded when I had similar dreams such as these....When I'd have fever back when I was really young...
Though back then,Id see some weird non-logical objects and some kind of patterns that generally do not make any sense, but somehow, the strange voices frightened and gave me a feeling like something bad happened...
