Why do I change so much?

When i'm dreaming, it is almost inevitable that I will change. Gender, age, and species (I went from girl pixie to "boy" lettaus to myself once.) It doesn't matter, I will change, and it's rarely noticed by anyone but me on occastion in dream. Does this have any meaning?

It could not possibly have a meaning, however, it definitly has a cause. However, that you would know more of than anyone.

Maybe your subconscious finds it easy to imagine you as different things.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I think lucid dreamers are like heroine addicts desperately trying to escape the hardships of the real world. the fact is, that lucid dreaming can bring about mental instabilities such as addiction. to say your not addicted or cant be addicted only proves that i am in fact correct. further more, people who are already struggling with a mental illness of some sort can have and should expect intensified symptoms. no, i am not a shrink. i am not even a doctor. i have one quarter of psyche 101 under my belt. however, i get my information from actual doctors who have researched the matter intensely and are experts in their field. i choose not to get everything i see from google and wiki and i most certainly do NOT blatantly swallow everything someone tells me to be true simply because it sounds cool or because someone once did it in a movie.(inception) i think for the sake of the mental stability of the masses, we should all just calm down and wait for more research and empirical evidence or at least read what is already out there before jumping into something as serious as this. and if you think that the masses in themselves are not ignorant, look at all the people who killed themselves after watching the movie 'avatar'. they killed themselves simply because they thought that they would never again be happy or one with the earth. the influence 'lucid dreamers' actually have over everyone else is mind boggling. mainly because 90% of you who do LD are doing it now because of the movie inception. i am not saying that LDing is dangerous, but it most definately is not safe either. especially when you LD without a doctor in psychology being present. ignorance is bliss and most of the information claiming that LDing is 100% safe comes from people who LD. the equivalent would be a heroine addict saying that using is 100% safe because it feels REEAAALLLLY GOOOOOD. if you are not a doctor, do not make claims you are unable to back without EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE. that is all.

Roflmao, that is the best thing I've ever read. I'll make sure to keep my psychologist present whenever I lucid dream so that in the event I overdose on LD he can enter my dream and bring me out lol.

      Hi katthevamp,

Maybe the dream self is continually evolving just like you.
Sounds cool to be ever-changing, and not locked to one form.

Ah but imagine being a paperclip, and all the things you could really do as one! lol

I think you could perhaps start a ( d r e a m ) journal to record all the changes you go through.
After some time you should start to see a pattern of the dreaming images & forms you take, and you can later start to reflect on the images so that "meaning" becomes clearer to you.

      Good luck.

      Successful troll is succesful.

Seriously dude LDing has been around 100's if not 1000's of years. And plenty of research has been done that proves it's safe. And yea I would say I am addicted, but unlike heroine you can't just LD whenever you want, you only have a small window while asleep.
