Black and white or Full Colour?

I have only ever dreamed in Black and White. Occasionally important things have colour, but the surroundings are always in black and white (like the start of Schindlers list, with the girl in the red coat). I'm hoping once I achieve lucidity I'll be able to turn the colour dial up.
How about you? Do you dream in black and white or full colour? Do you have cartoon style dreams? Ever dreamt of a colour that doesn't exist? I totally cannot imagine dreaming in colour! I'm hoping this will be a useful dream sign for me!

I always dream in colour, and always have. I told someone this the other day, and they were like "What? Really??" I still think it's normal though. I can't imagine dreaming in black and white!

I have every colour in my dreams, but mostly orange, green, brown and gold-ish tones. Most of the time it's late afternoon, and the sky's all orange-y and warm. It's nice because it's my favourite time of day and one of my favourite colours

I always dream in color too. A thread was started about this a couple weeks ago or so, and about (maybe literally) everyone who responded said they dream in color. Apparently it's very rare to only dream in black and white. I hope you can summon color in your lucid dreams. Maybe if you create the intention, you can get yourself to dream in color.

I typically dream in color. Though I had a lucid a week or two ago that started off in black and white. One of the first things I did was to command, "More color." Since everything in the scene was strung up in Christmas lights, the transformation from black and white to color was pretty magical. Good luck!

OP...how old are you? I believe there is a correlation between dreaming in black and white, and being raised during the time of black and white movies. This makes sense to me...but wouldn't account for the small amount of younger people that still dream in black and white. Personally I have always dreamed in color, and I think it would be very strange to dream in black and white. I think getting lucid to add color to your dreams is a really great goal and something that you should pursue until you are able to start dreaming in color naturally! Color in dreams, especially lucids, has left me in awe in my dreams before. The blues of the caribbean, the reds and oranges of sunset. I think Brad Pitt says it best in Interview With the Vampire

"We reached the Mediterranean. I wanted those waters to be blue, but they were black, nighttime waters, and how I suffered then, straining to recall the color that in my youth I had taken for granted. ...And there, a mechanical wonder allowed me to see the sun rise for the first time in two hundred years. And what sunrises, seen as the human eye could never see them: silver at first, then, as the years progressed, in tones of purple, red, and my long lost blue."

I'm 30 years old, so too young to have been raised on B&W TV. I read about that theory and it seemed pretty odd to me, how did people dream before any kind of TV? Did everything look like a painting?
I think it may be more related to my complete lack or artistic ability, my brain just doesn't consider what things look like as important I guess.

      Props for the Interview quote!

Why would it look any different than now? My dreams don't seem to resemble TV at all, they just look like waking life does.

Uhm yeah, I dream in complete colour, I remember a few dreams that I had where it was a frightening atmosphere, so they were darker colours, but still not black and white.

Most of my dreams are in full color. Most of them are photorealistic, although several have been in various cartoon styles. One was in black and white once.

Colours, colours, colours, all kinds of them. Some orange here, blue there, and every other colour! Colours are a magical part of dreams, and could not imagine life without them. You know, unless there are mimes around.
