Thread: Determination or Luck?

One week ago I wrote in big letters in my DJ "Goal: Talk to *name* in a lucid dream by 15/7/11"

(*name* is a real person so I won't include it)

Now I am not one to set goals, and I especially don't write them down or set dates. But I really wanted this dream so I gave myself a week to do it, and tried best I could each night.

Anyway, come last night it happened. I wasn't lucid however (have only ever had 2 anyway), although the dream I did have is better than anything I could've imagined myself. It truly was more than I expected, in a good way.

I hadn't done anything exceptionally special before bed except look at the goal and say, If I don't do this tonight I HAVE to do it tomorrow (before the goal date).

Now, lucid aside, I know you normally dream about what happened during the day or what's on your mind, but to actually dream about this person (lets just say, never met them, other side of the world, they don't even speak the same language so it was a far fetch) was pretty out of the ordinary.

tl;dr Have I just discovered the power of goal setting with a good amount of determination or was it simply luck that I dreamed about what I wanted to dream about?
