      Strange sensation during sleep.

I'm new here and just started reading through a few topics at random.
I remembered something that happens to me sometimes at night, although I can't recall it's happened for a while.

I'll wake up suddenly, sometimes from a dream, sometimes not, and I'll just lay there; head on pillow.
I think because I was in a deep sleep, I won't choose to react normally and get up, turn the light on etc. I think I am awake, but I don't feel properly awoken, if it makes sense.
I'll just lay there for a while.

What happens next is the strange part,
It's like... it's like waves crashing right up in my ears.
I'll be lying there alone in the dark on my bed, and it will be silent, then suddenly my ears become pounded with a crashing noise, like a real OOOpmh.
The sound comes on really harsh, and makes me recover a little.
Hard to explain, but kinda like a huge wave crashing onto itself in the sea, kinda.
I'm pretty sure I'm awake when this happens, although when it does happen, as I said before, I won't check to see if I am really awake.
It hasn't happened in a while, maybe a few months.

Does this thing or anything similar happen to anyone else?

I got this in my first LD last night. The noise was a little scary and very off putting! Still don't know what it was... but was throughout the dream

I believe, those are auditory hallucinations that you get just before entering a dream. Keep your eyes closed, don't move, think of a dream you just had or a new scenario, but not intensly, and you should enter lucid dream within next few seconds.
