You already have your eyes closed when entering SP (after all, SP is the body getting ready to sleep/dream, and most bodies don't sleep well with eyes open )
SP isn't dangerous, and of you're prepared for what is coming, it isnt scary either I've net experienced SP that many times, but for me, it only last seconds. The hallisunations was mainly a loud roaring noise in my ears (like when wind is blowing hard against your face) and it felt like my hair got blown back to. The next second I was free falling, and then I woke up in bed... I'm not that good at it..
Anyways, my piont is that the SP can't hurt you, so no matter how nasty the hallucinations get (im not saying they will, just IF) its nothing to fear, just lay there, calmly. Hitting SP is actually very positive, it means that you're soon in a lucid!
