      Dream recall's deteriorating

Ok, so I've been keeping a DJ for 5 days now, but it's been getting worse and worse as i go along..

I'm 19 and not in school or a job at the moment, so I'm not under any stress or anything like that.
I should add that for the first few nights, I was awake, as usual, until about 1-2am or so, and was on the computer straight before going to bed. Recently I've been shutting down earlier and leaving at least half an hour before bed, which SHOULD help dream recall, but, as you can see, it's been getting worse. I know 5 days isn't long enough to tell, and correlation =/= causation here, but does this strike anybody as being unusual?

      Cheers,
      Night.

How much sleep do you get at night? I know when I get less than 7-8 hours of sleep, my recall is shot. If you're getting a good amount of sleep, maybe just give it some more time; recall can be tough to build for some people if you aren't used to trying to remember your dreams.

well, it usually takes at least half an hour/an hour to get to sleep, and I'm awake at half 7, so usually about 6 hours or so. Thing is, the later days, where my recall has been worse, I've been going to bed at about half 10, so I've actually had MORE sleep. Could it just be the fact that I've got such an inconsistent sleeping pattern?
thanks for the quick reply btw

No problem! Always glad to help when I can.

The inconsistency of your sleep pattern doesn't seem too bad, but that could very well be a contributing factor to your recall being fuzzy. If you can, find a consistent bedtime and wake time allowing for as much sleep as you're used to getting (so about 6 hours or so) even on the weekends and see what happens.

yeah, I could probably benefit from having a more regular sleep pattern anyway. I'll give it a try ;P
I suppose my current predicament is just bad luck, I suppose- I'll see what happens over the next few days.
      Thanks again!
