Too real to be a dream? IDK please help me understand this? Non Religious Dreaming of Jesus

I should have typed this as soon as I awoke from this dream but I am just now getting the chance. I will do my best to explain it in detail, but it is somewhat hard to do. This dream seemed excessively long even though it occurred during a nap. I sleep for approximately 2 hours, maybe a little less. I have never been so relieved to wake up and realize that my situation was only a dream. Although, I am still not sure that it was “only a dream”. This dream has left me feeling peculiar and confused.

      (Begin Dream)
I decided to go and visit my father. In my dream he had recently purchased a house and I was going to see his new dwelling. I arrived at this old house. It was a big beautiful two story home with classic charm. My father had already moved in all his furniture and was living there.

We spoke about the house for a few minuets and then a good friend of mine showed up for a visit. We were all watching TV. We were commenting on what a great picture the TV had it was extremely vivid and clear. It seemed 3D. My friend reached towards the TV and I noticed a hand coming out of the screen which she was able to grab a hold of. We all laughed as she held hands with this character on the TV. I thought it was very strange in my dream, but it was brushed off as some sort of new realistic 3D. My dad seemed very proud of this new TV and we all agreed it was cool.

My friend goes in the kitchen to make a drink. She tells me that she has some news that she wants to share with me. I ask her what it was. She then tells me that she and her husband have decided to adopt a child. I tell her I think that is wonderful and congratulations. My friend begins to sip her drink when out of nowhere starts acting odd.

I also start to feel very strange, but seem to be able to still function normally. My friend however starts to babble like a child or a baby and starts crawling around. She is obviously not herself. She seems completely out of it. I convince her to go home. At this point I am thinking it must have been her drink and she just needs some rest. She leaves.

After she leaves I start noticing that this house doesn’t feel right. It seems to have an unsettling atmosphere. I become somewhat uncomfortable as I begin to realize that this house is possessed by something sinister. I tell this to my dad who admits that he has had some issues since moving in.

Almost immediately after this conversation my mother shows up in the dream. Which is weird because she passed on almost 10 years ago, but in my dream it is as if she is able to visit from the other side. In my dream I still know that she is dead, but she seems very much alive during her short visit. She also goes to the kitchen and makes a Bloody Mary to drink. She ask me if I would like one. I say that I would and we then retreat to the porch to have our drinks. The next thing I remember is my mom is gone. She just disappears.

I then see my dad, but he is acting very strange. I begin to notice that invisible demons or evil forces are somehow after me. I feel very threatened and fearful. I turn to my father trying to convince him that we must leave this place, but I am too late.

My father is possessed by something evil. He attacks me. I am running and fighting back, but I can’t seem to get away.

I am able to get to my phone and I dial 911, but I do not know the address. My father has a knife and is trying to kill me, although, he isn’t really my father. He is some type of demon. I am pleading with 911 for help and to hurry. They are trying to determine my location. I feel like they will not make it in time, but then I see lights from the police car. I run for the front door. I open it and see the police. For a moment I am relieved.

Unfortunately, I soon realize the police have also been possessed by these demons and they start to attack me as well. Helpless, I dial 911 again and began pleading with them for help. I am able to get my hands on a knife that was thrown at me earlier. I stick it in my back pocket and continue running around this house. I am desperately trying to escape my pursuers.

I start to realize that these are demons and that no human can help me. I start to feel or know that I need Jesus to help me. I shout to the top of my lungs JESUS SAVE ME FROM THESE DEMONS. This indeed hurts the demons and they shy away when I say it. I start to know that as long as I have Jesus with me and believe in him that they can not hurt me. Although, I am still struggling. I keep asking Jesus to help me and narrowly escape the house to the street.

On the street I am out of breath. I am scared and looking back at the house. I am on a dark street but there is a single street light between me and the house. I notice a middle aged man walking along the street and reading what I believe was a bible. He act as though he can not see me at all.

I am talking to Jesus this whole time about what is happening. As this man passes between me and the street light he disappears turning into a flash of light that I watch shoot off into the sky.

At this point Jesus tells me that this man has given his life for me. He tells me that this man had once committed horrible crimes and was imprisoned but had found god and become holy. That this man’s last way of paying for his past mistakes was to give up his life to those demons. So that I may live and that I should not let his death be in vain. Then Jesus leaves me on this street. I could never see him but I could sense his presence and I could sense it as he left.

I began to walk down the street where I suddenly am greeted by four older women. These women are in like a church choir or something. They are all carrying what looks like hymnals and are dressed in long white robes like what the choir would ware.

They explain that they are now here to protect me on my journey. One stands in front of me, one stands behind me, and one to each side of me so that I am surrounded by them on all sides. They are standing very close as if they are cradling me in safety as I begin to proceed down this long road. It is dark but I notice that there are street lights to light our way.
      (End Dream)

My husband comes in and wakes me up. As he is waking me up I am very calm and when I open my eyes and begin to realize that it had all been a dream I am very relieved. Although, I somehow feel changed by this dream.

I am trying desperately to remember more. It was so vivid and seemed so real. I know that there is some sort of message for me here, but what exactly does it all mean. I am a Christian, but I have never been super religious. I am an Episcopalian. I am not superstitious, but somehow this dream really has me shaken but also enlightened. I am left wondering if it was really a dream after all or if it wasn’t something altogether different. It sure didn’t feel like a dream even after I woke up. I would love to hear some feedback on this. Thank you.

While I'm not a religious person my family did raise me catholic. I suggest you try and interpret it by yourself or maybe talk to you local priest. Even if they just try and get you to come to church more often they will be able to offer more insight than I am. After/if you do that I would just mull over it for a little while, let the whole experience sink in. If it really left that big of an impression on you then you will probably have another dream similar to that one. Even if you don't you could always use lucid dreaming to ask Jesus yourself

Very interesting. I cant say for certain what this was, but it sounds to me like God is trying to send you a message. What that message is, I couldn't tell you, I'm not God. The only thing I can tell you is that God has often communicated with people through dreams, such as Joseph, and those dreams often contain symbols. Such as the 7 sickly cows devouring the 7 healthy ones, representing the 7 years of famine that would come after the 7 good years in Egypt. So its possible many of the things in your dream symbols for something bigger, such as the house or the drinks.

I suggest you try to interpret this one on your own as best you can, but also talk with other people who are knowledgeable on this subject, like a minister. I also think it would be a good idea to read the parts of the Bible that talk about dreams, such as the story of Joseph I mentioned earlier. A quick Google search should help you find them.

Or you know, you could always the Big Man himself if you get stumped. I'd think He would know better than anyone what's going on.
