This can be a new music or a music that i didn't listened for a long time. So i was curios, Is it possible to listen to music in a dream? Yes, you can listen to music in dreams. Often times if you do the music will seem odd or strange, or at least you'll think that once you wake up and realize what it actually sounded like. Since logic isn't present in dreams the music can really take on a life of its own. After you wake up from this dream it's likely that the song would be in your head and, if you didn't remember the dream itself, it can seem like it came out of nowhere. There's also a chance you just happen to have a song in your head, it happens every once in a while.

i think everybody wakes up with a song in their head sometimes. What I find way more interesting and cool is making up new music while dreaming. As an ameteur songwriter and recordist, I have tried to integrate dream ideas into my music and get them recorded, but i've found it ridiculously difficult to do since- like Burke said- the music is always so bizarre. Sometimes it floats and is incredibly... ethereal i guess, and other times it is extremely jerky and has odd time.

on a related note, I've become a huge fan of a band called Tame Impala. A lot of their music- especially from the album Innerspeaker- is eerily reminiscent of the ethereal type stuff that i've heard while dreaming. Their songwriter has even said his melodies are influenced by dreams.

Definitelly! A very few of my dreams had music in them. In one, it was a song by one of my favorite bands and I clearly sang along with correct lyrics and all. And one of my lucids had a soundtrack, together with a radio callsign and a jingle.

But if you wake up and don't remember this dream, it's possible that only the music got stuck in your memory and you don't know why.

I'm also a big music fan, and I often hear music in my dreams. Like, a song will just start playing out of nowhere and I'll be like, "Ooh I love this song!" and I'll start singing along. lol. And I also often inexplicably wake up with a song stuck in my head; I don't know whether it's because I heard it in a dream or not, but it'll just be there ... Anyway, you're definitely not alone.

Not only have I heard music in dreams but I have heard original songs that have never been. Being an ex-songwriter I would sometimes try to emulate these dream tunes in the waking world. It is all quite fascinating.
