A mysterious childhood nightmare came back and concluded itself last night.

I wanted to open a discussion about something that happen to me last night. I find it terribly confusing, but ultimatly incredible that this has happened.

Several years back, I'd say... 8+ years ago, I had this dream at least twice that I haven't thought about in so long. I had a dream that there was a mysterious death of two teenagers across the street from my house in the church courtyard. The place I was dreaming about is real, that's why I remember thinking of it so long ago.

The dream played out that I was walking into the courtyard looking at the adults of the church all standing around in a huddle discussing what should be done about the strange deaths, and if they should tell anyone. They wouldn't talk about it with me, but one of their kids had overheard them and shared the information with me. The dead teenagers were found laying out on the grass in the church's yard, mutilated with no explanation. The only clue that remained other than their bodies, were large trenches running through the grass, as if something had been dragged across it weighing a ton, and ripping up the dirt.

Last night, I had a dream of an old lady screaming "MONSTER, MONSTER, IT'S THERE IN THE TREE! Why wouldn't anybody listen!?" A huge worm like beast jumped out from the tree and zoomed through that church courtyard leaving those dirt grooves in the ground, and I immediatly knew what she was talking about. She was yelling about those teenagers that had died in my dreams so many years ago as if it was her reality and she had tried to warn people. I wrote down the rest of this dream here.

Althought I woke up and found this dream completely awesome, I'm still confused. How would a dream from so long ago, that I didn't even remember- randomly come back and finish itself? Has anyone else every had something like this?

We may guess that in dreams life, matter, and vitality, as the earth knows such things, are not necessarily constant; and that time and space do not exist as our waking selves comprehend them. Sometimes I believe that this less material life is our truer life, and that our vain presence on the terraqueous globe is itself the secondary or merely virtual phenomenon." H.P. Lovecraft

Wow, now THAT is interesting! An old dream finishing itself years later.

Have you, by any chance, been thinking about that old dream often and wondering the meaning of it? Maybe your mind thought you suffered enough not knowing the outcome and gave you a conclusion.

Or, maybe you were tuned in into same dream as years ago and this time were allowed to see the end. But really, have no idea, how or why. In any case, it had to be really powerful experience. Happy dreams

That's pretty cool. I've never had a dream continue like that, although I have had a dream that sort of "made a dream come true".

When I was 7 or 8, I had a dream where I mutated a tail because of toxic waste under the house. Several years later when I was probably 13, I had a dream where I woke up with a tail and proceeded to explain to my family about my previous dream and the toxic waste. We checked under the house and, sure enough, green, glowing toxic ooze was flowing out everywhere.

Things like this really make you think

PS. Your story made me think of the Spongebob episode with the Alaskan Bull Worm!

Thanks for your input guys. The strange thing is, is I'm sure I haven't thought of that dream for years. I almost forgot it existed until the second that thing jumped out of the tree and ran through the courtyard.

Btw, that's awesome iamshadow. I've always wanted a tail. lol
