      Was this night terrors?

I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a strange flying creature with a blue glow in my room. I was very scared. I immediately got out of bed and ran over to the light switch to turn the lights on. When the lights were turned on; the creature was gone and I was completely calm. Was this night terrors, sleep paralysis, a hallucination or just some weird dream?

Most likely just a hallucination. They are pretty common when you transition from a waking state to a dreaming state and visa-versa so chances are you were still part asleep when you woke up and the act of getting out of bed woke you up completely and by that time the hallucination probably disappeared. Nothing to worry about

I agree with Araishu. Those are called hypnopompic hallucinations which happen when you start waking up, as opposed to hypnagogic hallucinations which happen as you start falling asleep. They're normal, and are harmless, so don't worry about it you can even marvel at them and enjoy watching them :3

      Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
