Seeking Analysis of This Recurring Dream Topic

First, the dream as it last occured (last night):

I was washing dishes in a hospital. There was an incubator with a baby in it next to my work area. I don't know why the newborn area was mixed in with the kitchen. I spilled water next to the incubator. I went upstairs to get a mop.

I saw an old co-worker from my real life. She was working at a station. I asked her for a mop so no one would slip and hurt the baby. She took her time finding the mop. She was a lazy person in real life and she acted the same in this dream.

She finally gave me the mop. I went to go back down the stairs, but I fell in neck-deep, sudsy water. I waded over to the incubator. The neck-deep water splashed around me and fell away.

The incubator now had a large hole in it and was covered in rust. There was a stream of rusty water coming from it and flowing across the floor. It looked like it had been blasted open years ago. I stopped and stared at it for a moment, then I approached. The baby was covered in rust and was crying silently, it's mouth wide open and no sound being produced. It's mouth was deformed. It looked like it had a little beak. Blood was spurting from a hole in it's neck. I froze for a moment again, then I got down on my knees, picked up the child, applied pressure to the wound, and started screaming for help.

      Then I woke up.

I've had dreams about dead babies before. It was always me running across a parking lot trying to resusitate it alone while screaming for help and trying to find help. This was different. It was like two of my careers were melding into one and it was pretty disturbing.

      Any thoughts?

Does this have a connection with your work life being stressful?

It was stressful before. I actually did try to resusitate a dead baby once and I dreamt of it for years, but it went away after a while. Until last night.

It's not stressful anymore. It's pathetic because I'm a 30 year old man doing a teenager's job (with teenagers), but it's not stressful by any means. It's actually very easy and I almost go into a trance when I'm doing it. Because I spent so many of my younger years doing it

It may help if you gave some details into your personal life (if it's not too uncomfortable), particularly if there's something bothering you at the moment, even if it's just a little bit.

Umm, I'm single, sort of. I have a sex-only relationship with a 20-year old female. She's mean and a little crazy, but I like how she mostly leaves me to my own devices. She doesn't like people, but she likes sex with me. That's warped, I know. She's a bad person and we don't really like each other. We met at a bar and I'm more experienced than what she's used to so now we have things as they are today. I haven't been at the gym very much lately. I should do something about that. I like to hunt, but I also haven't been doing that a lot lately either. I don't drink very often, but I drink a lot when I do. I've been trying to quit smoking for a few years. My Mom died this year. I recently moved away from where I grew up due to some criminal issues (why I'm a cook again). I couldn't get a job or an apartment (small town) so I had to leave.

I guess that's about it for my personal life

Thanks for sharing that. I can't seem to link any of it to your dream, however. Is there any of it in particular that has been on your mind recently? Even if you haven't necessarily addressed it consciously?

I kind of see a link, but I may be way off. Could rescuing the babies be your hero side? It could also be your nurturing side. Both of these could feel rusty, or damaged, given that you are in a vegetative job that doesn't stretch you. Your relationship doesn't sound like it's fulfilling your nurturing side either. Is there any way you could change either of those things? What would you like to do if there were no obstacles? Maybe you could bring those things to your dreams and find a solution.
