      Constant Dreams of painful tickling

I'm trying to find out if this is a regular dream that most people have, and what does it mean?

I am now 31 years old and I have this dream and it is my ultimate nightmare

I have been having the dream since I was 4 years old. I grew up in a house that I moved out of when I was 10 and everytime I have this dream about being in in that bedroom the dream comes back. and everytime I KNOW I am dreaming I know I am in BIG trouble because straight away I think about this happening and it happens.

      this is the dream

Im in this bedroom, and it has a old blind that used to go down I hear a noise that sounds like bats. i look in the window and there is all these bats around, and a guy pointing at me at the window laughing, then all of a sudden I get this feeling from behind and I become paralyzed and this sharp tickling starts in my ribs and under my arms at the stage it is extremely painful, at this point I know I am dreaming and am trying to wake up, I sorta half wake up it goes dark but I can still feel this pain from the tickling in my ribs and this sharp pain in the back. then finally after about 10 seconds I manage to get my eyes open and I ALWAYS wake up in the middle of the night from this dream, it's never in the morning in daylight it's always night, and I wake up in sweet and don't want to go back to sleep.

I hate this dream its been happening for over 25 years and I at least have it 1 or 2 times a month. does it mean anything?? is it a common dream?

as I said before as soon as I know I am dreaming if its a nice dream Lucid dreaming is impossible because straight away this gets into my head and the dream ends this way

Well I could only give you advise for recurring dreams. There are generally two ways of solving recurring dreams. The first is to face whatever it is that's attacking you. I know you said you become paralyzed so it does sound more difficult but I would say you have a moment where you know everything is about to go wrong and you could run up to that guy and grab him. I'd advise turning him around and shout something like "What the fuck do you think you're doing". I had a recurring nightmare about a witch chasing me at my primary school. She'd fly around in the air leaving a black trail of smoke hysterically cackling. Needless to say it was terrifying. However I solved it because she came down and faced me. Generally this is where I would look away and curl into a ball paralyzed but I turned around and looked directly into her eyes. She had a long nose and I remembered my grandad telling me that if anyone ever bothers me to hit them in the nose. It hurts and it won't stop bleeding for a long time. So I swung at her face and broke her nose. Moral of that story, I don't get that dream anymore. Not the exact one anyway and the others I've had far less often and they don't come back.

The other way to solve any nightmare at all is to learn how to force yourself to wake up. I just close my eyes and tense my head like all the muscles in my forehead and face. I just force myself to wake up. Whenever I get the feeling "Oh shit, everything is about to go very very wrong." I do it and just avoid the problem entirely. The downside is that you still get the dream if it's recurring and it doesn't always work 100% effectively if it's late.

I would say to get angry about it, be mad. It's your head and they have no right to disturb you, tell them get fuck away from you.
