Mantras and Dream journals in your own origin language

Hey! I got a thought before going to bed yesterday, should you write your DJ and do mantras in your own origin language?

I've written my dream journal in Swedish (being my 1:st Language) but I'm considering if I should do it in english.

My thoughts would be that your body thinks usually in the language you're born to know.

Could an American do his DJ in spanish if i knew spanish or would it break the effect or something?

      Hey

I think what language you do it in really just boils down to how fluent and comfortable you are in any secondary languages, as well as just a personal taste, what you prefer. Besides that I don't think it has much effect on performance, such as decreased effectivity, although I can only speak from personal experience on this matter.

My native language is Danish, though I record my dreams in English and do my mantras and such in English too. The reason I do my dream journal in English is simply just because it feels natural to me and it's practical. I have a lot of people that I communicate with on a daily basis to who'm I communicate in English, and if I ever feel like sharing them it's easy to just pick them straight up instead of doing any kind of translations. The part about feeling natural is simply just because I like English as a language, and I'm ironically (or sadly, your choice ) overall better at describing ideas clearly in English, therefore I choose to do it.

Again this is only personal experience, if it affects others I'm not sure, but I've always thought about this question myself.

SomeDreamer gave a great response to this

When you think about the word horse, or the Swedish translation häst, the same parts of your brain are being activated. In short tenses or single words especially, the brain can easily understand the message without needing to think. It's just like when you learn a new language: you first translate, and then you understand. At some point though, you become fluent enough to translate and understand it practically in the same instant.

So go ahead and write in your DJ with any language that you wish, same with your mantras. For example, some of my mantras are in english and other's in my native language (Portuguese) simply because sometimes I identify better with a certain mantra said in english, and I have results in both ways, because it's the thought behind the words that matters.

My thoughts would be that your body thinks usually in the language you're born to know.
I bet if I told you that right in this moment you were in a lucid dream, or i detta ögonblick du är i en klarsynt dröm, you'd react exactly in the same way ^^ (assuming google translator is good enough )
