I am like this as well. I have the mindset that it's me, even if my appearance isn't correct.

Almost every time I look into a mirror while dreaming, I look completely different. Longer hair, a beard, even a different face one time. Yet, it's still me.

I had a dream a while ago that I was a vampire named Lucian Walton. The character wasn't me, but I guess it was still sort of me.

Once when I was about 7 I remember I was Scooby-Doo and Shaggy put me in jail.

Sometimes I see myself in 3rd person too.

Yeah!!! This exactly is what woke me up from sleep and brought me to this forum this morning. I'm a guy, but i had a nightmare where i dreamt i was a beautiful girl, but somehow a very mean guy was chasing me with a weapon to hurt me. Surprisingly, i ran until i was a long distance from him. Then i looked and saw some other guys flirting around a woman i considered not beautiful. So i was wondering in my mind what on earth could have made guys to ignore me as beautiful as i am and go flirting with that ugly woman(and hey, i'm not gay in real life at all, neither do i feel like going transgender). In all, i still wonder what could have caused such a strange experience.
