Thread: Disturbing dream about ex-boyfriend's mother

Hi! I'm new to forum, but have been reading things on it for quite some time. I've been wondering about this dream of mine.
Earlier today I had a dream concerning my ex boyfriend and his family. He broke up with me a little over 3 months ago, and it ended on very bad terms, with some harsh words exchanged mostly on my part. We haven't spoke in about 3 months and it doesn't seem like there will ever be any sort of reconciliation. He recently got a new girlfriend, who i know with a sort of certainty that his family would not approve as much as they had of me, based on the certain actions and things that she does. I had always gotten along with his family for the relatively short time we were together (around 4 months), and they always commented on how they liked me and such. When he broke up with me, his mother apparently said, "She's nice. are you sure you want to do that?"

In my dream, I was at a gymnasium where a fashion show was taking place. My ex and his family were present to see his new girlfriend who happened to be in the show. I had passed them, and I remember only clearly seeing my ex's face once, and I gave him a rather dark look. Who I was with is a blur to me. Afterwards, no one else was of focus in my dream but his mom. After I had seen my ex, I had kept trying to say hi to his mom when she looked my direction. I would smile at her, but i would receive no acknowledge in return. Her face was in a constant, tight frown. Expressionless yet sad, or maybe disapproving. It was like I was either invisible or dirt. We finally came entirely face to face in the bathroom, but the same lack of reaction yet again. We went into the stalls, when suddenly I heard a loud, echoing gunshot sort of sound. We both exited our stalls in surprise and stood for a few seconds silently wondering (I think a few words were exchanged) until we realized the gunshot had come from another stall. I began to quickly exit, but she just stood still. I stopped, and beckoned her, saying, "Come on." I did not have much fear during the dream. She finally began to move, and before we fully left the bathroom, the stall door from which the gunshoot came from swung open. I saw some movement of the figure moving before I woke, but I woke (mostly upon the clang of the door) before I could see who or what was going to happen. I also don't know if they had shot another or themselves. It was quiet in there except the shot. The reaction I had upon waking left me most disturbed. I was trembling slightly, sick, and afraid. I worried for his mother. I was afraid to fall back asleep. Thinking of it still gives me unease.
What could it possibly mean?
