I just woke up, covered in sweat, from the most terrifying nightmare I've had in a very long time.
In the dream, I was simply playing Second Life on my computer. I wasn't in the best mood. For some reason, I had my sunglasses on. I was trying to type something in the game when I started seeing strange static, so I figured there must be something wrong with my resolution and I try adjusting the brightness or something. The static gets stronger (not because of my attempt to fix it), so I blink a bit and wiggle my sunglasses, thinking it's simply an effect of the polarization of the lenses. It wasn't. I finally took my shades off and that's when I saw a static version of a man's face on my computer screen, followed by the most terrifyingly, inexplicably, otherworldly chill-like spasm of energy throughout my entire body, plus a horrifying involuntary scream spilling from my mouth. (Note: I have a severe phobia of my computer being hacked and controlled... I have no clue why). It was like my computer was possessed. I instantly ran around, panicked and practically possessed myself, screaming and shouting random vocalizations seemingly involuntarily. I ran into my mother's room, acting in the possessed manner described and seeing how in real life she's a devout Christian, she began trying to exorcise me. My body was still spasming and practically convulsing like when the shock originally occurred. I was holding my seizing arm and blabbering violently as well as crying out of pure terror and desperation to be saved from the nightmare occurring. I was not lucid at all throughout the entire dream. Has anybody experienced anything like this? I feel like I may have had this sort of dream before or similar. I just hope writing about this has somehow helped to disperse this awful horror I've literally just experienced so I can go back to sleep... It's 9:30AM. Well... At least my cat has hopped on my bed and appears ready to nap with me. Wish me luck...!
