      Terrified :)

      But Hopeful!
This whole concept of lucid dreaming has fascinated me for years, and I have at various times had several experiences with it. But it has been several years since I've had a lucid dream (that I recall). I have pretty awesome dream recall (probably due to my terrible habit of immediately waking up and sharing all of my dreams with my roommates.) But it seems to have worked out for the best.

I am highly interested in learning to control my dreams. Mostly just as a sense of adventure. I just would love to experiment and learn to control things and solve problems and accomplish tasks in my dreams. It all seems wonderful.

However: I'm also terrified of things like sleep paralysis, nightmares, and ultimately losing control or becoming too obsessed.

So I'm kinda curious about how dangerous any of this can be, I'm scared to open my mind to this too much in fear that I could start trapping myself in fear of sleep or night or something. Does that ever happen?

Anyway! Sorry for the long post! Just kinda saying hi and speaking about where I am right now. Maybe with a little encouragement I will be able to join in this community in a more meaningful way!

Lucid dream is usually the medicine for nightmares, for example.
The sleep paralysis, do a research, you'll see that it is not a frightening thing - unless you want and see it this way.

I don't think any of these things can happen, only if you allow and want.

You say your recall is good, this will help you immensely, half way in. Make a good use.
      And be wellcome !

Thanks so much! The more I learn the safer and less frightening everything seems. I had a lucid during a nap yesterday and it was extremely cool. I'm just trying to work on training myself more and continuing to develop recall and control! Definitely an exciting experience though!

Sounds wonderful, Rising. I am in the exact same boat as you. I'm scared of what I don't understand but I am so excited at the prospects Lucid Dreaming offers.
