Unhappy Waking up from a dream, realizing it was only a dream.

So recently I have been having increased dreams of Killer Whales (Orcinus orca) and I am grateful for them. They have been so vivid. I dont really care that they have been lucid, because the experience was very enjoyable. The problem is when I wake enough to realize I was just in a dream it wakes me up all the way and It makes me feel a bit sad knowing that the experience wasnt actually real. Mostly because I have not gotten the privilege to see an orca in real life yet. So in the dream I get the satisfaction of finally seeing one in nature, only to realize later I did not. On the other hand I want them to continue, because currently it is the only way I can see them. Incase you could not tell, I have a passion for these sentient beings.

What kind of dreams do you come out of feeling happy, but also a bit empty?

I know, it sucks Dreams where you achieve unfulfilled goals can be like that, especially when they're non-lucid. I once had a dream when I hit a great golf shot from the fairway into the hole for an eagle, then I woke up from it disappointed I was only dreaming.

You'll see an orca one day! With all of these whale watching trips around the world, it's not very hard to see one in real life.

I have recurring non-lucid dreams where I am a general. Sounds strange, I know, but it has some meaning to me. I have these dreams quite frequently, and they are very vivid. I won't go into detail, but I essentially have the power to do whatever I want. I can go to war, buy anything I like, and crush any who dare to oppose me. What can I say? I'm somewhat of a power-tripping egomaniac.

Anyhow, when I awake from these dreams I enjoy my experience, but I also feel a bit empty. I am still trying to attain lucidity, and I plan on becoming lucid in these dreams.
