Question Why do you wake up during happy parts of your dream?

Some of my dreams are almost like story where there's a certain conflict happening, and me and maybe some dream characters solve the problem and when we get towards the end where we have that feeling of success and I never get to see it. I always feel disappointed when I wake up that I never got to see how the dream "ends". How can I stay asleep during the really happy parts of dreams?

It has something to do with the fact that the "happy parts" is high in emotional intensity, and the subconscious mind is not generating the dreamworld fast enough, or accurately enough for you to stay in the dream.

I'm sorry for the vagueness, but I think the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" mentions this topic slightly (so if you're interested in the science...)

But most dreams are fleeting in nature and requires stabilization if you want to experience it to a fuller extent - hence why it is one of the most important steps in dream control. So don't expect your average non-lucid dreams to be that amazing.

      Another thing that might matter:
Dreaming is like a movie. When you reach the goal or the "Happy end" you wake up. I had this in my beginning lucids where I did tasks. I always just had one task and when I reached it I woke up. For sure on one hand like starship said because I was really happy I did It but on the other hand because I was done and had nothing more planned. The story ended.
Don't know it something of this helps...

Sometimes it works when I am sensing the dream fading and I still haven't solved the story in the dream, to start using my imagination to replay and go back to the scene in the dream. I'll then start imagining what I want to see next in the story. With any luck sometimes that guides me back into the next dream scene and hang onto the plot.
