This has happened to me many times, and I still occasionally will look an odd word up to see if there is some meaning to it, though there never is.
I believe that, just as your dreaming mind generates random imagery in your dreams, it also tends to create random sounds, symbols, or words. So the words you discover during dreams might just be random tosses of sounds or letters that carry no meaning at all. This is true even with words you think are important as you dream them: their import tends to lie more in the realm of your dreaming mind giving them importance to flesh out the context of a particular scene than it does in than it does in the words actually having meaning (i.e. that appearance of 'palismatic'). And, of course, these random collections of letters become even more meaningful because you cannot remember during the dream that they have no meaning.
Still, it is fun to look them up, or hold onto the belief that they carry the same meaning in waking life that they did in the dream, so don't be concerned about looking them up every time they happen... who knows? maybe someday one of them might actually carry valuable meaning!
