I've been keeping a dream diary for about a month or so now, and have been able to write down loads every night (I could remember all my dreams anyway). But the last couple of days, I've been remembering small and random snippets of dreams that I had years and years ago that I'ld completly forgotton about till I suddenly remember them. I'm just doing something random, and out pops a dream, that usually has nothing to do with what I'm doing now.

Anyone else have this? It's not really important or anything, but it is pretty cool thinking back on the dreams that I've completly forgotton for years.

I go through that as well. Usaully if I had a dream years ago and it was something really significant about that dream then every so often It would just pop in my thoughts for no apparent reason whatsoever. Mostly it's usually like the coolest Lucid Dreams that has lasted the longest also. I usually remember some non- lucid dreams that I had years ago and they pop up in my thoughts till this day. But it's usually if I felt something really stood out in that dream that would allow me to think it up once again.

I remember some dreams that are 10 years old and I'm not joking.

I still remember a dream from when I was like 1 year old

I actually think I was having an episode of Sleep Paralysis, because I remember waking up, and seeing the crib bars, and then something was moving on the other side. I remember not being able to move, but I wasn't afraid because I didn't know what was going on and just went back to sleep.

Wow, thats strange. The earliest memory I've got was my 5th birthday, I think.

The dreams I'm remembering arn't special in any way - neither are the parts I'm remembering - it just seems completly random when it does happen and what I remember.

Same here. It definitely has something to do with a dream journal. For me, if I've had a very vivid or long dream, during the day I might start to remember bits and pieces of old dreams.
I would think it's a completely normal side-effect of increased dream recall.

But my dream recall hasn't increased. I could remember all my dreams before I started keeping the journal anyway.

Same here I remember some of my favorite dreams back then, but one thing is for sure I dreamt many times about the same exact area more than 3 or 4 times. An it always tends to be similar environment just maybe in a different area than last time or something was added or removed.
