I know exactly what you mean, more vivid, more memorable, and usually i can only become lucid from a nap.
I am a man. I have nothing to show off. I am just a person withnothingexcept for what I would like to show off, which is nothing.

When I have "car naps" (sleeping in a car while travelling) I sometimes have OBEs (or a dream thats like an OBE). Mostly I stay in the car though, and watch myself.
The saying "in your dreams" has taken on a whole new meaning...

Naps and WBTB experiences are my favourite, as someone said - more lucid and more memorable. However, part of the reason why I mainly resort to this is because I'm a bit scared of waking back to bed at night, since it's dark - I know it's ridiculous, and I'm 27 years old, heh. But I have had ugly experiences of waking up and seeing things that weren't there (while being perfectly awake), and so I try not to have any LDs at night anymore.

If I feel that I'm starting to levitate off my bed at night (in a dream - I don't believe in astral projection), I make an effort to stop it and go back to non-lucidty. Too scared to do otherwise. I hope that I can gain more confidence over time, and fully take advantage of those 7 hours of night time sleep without having to rely soley on DILDs during that portion of the day.

I believe it's because the body doesn't have a full chance to shut down during a nap. Even if your take a 2hr nap, and you're able to get through all the levels of sleep, you're more likely to wake during an REM period which makes it much more easy to remember your dreams. As far as gaining lucidity, I find it hard to gain lucidity in Deep DEEP sleep. Afternoon naps are much less likely to put you into that near-catatonic state where you're A) too knocked-out to realize you're dreaming or B) too knocked-out to remember that you've been dreaming, in the first place, upon waking up.

So, basically yeah, afternoon naps are amongt the best ways to induce vivid and/or lucid dreams, naturally.

Well, the reason is because you need an amount of time before you enter REM sleep. Usually you want to sleep for at least an hour. Another part of remembering is that you look back at your dream immediately. I found that if you don't think about the dream right away, there is a good chance you will forget it.

Sounds interesting, but I wouldn't really know about that....I rarely take naps, if ever.
