Items, books and/or posters from dreams?

Hello, this thread is about the strangeness of items that you encounter in dreams. For example books and their titles, which in most cases are quite humorous and twisted beyond understanding. Share your experienced where you've been in contact or seen items and read strange titles of books or anything from your dreams. I'll start.

I've had many dreams where I stumble upon books or posters with strange titles or weird things written on and in them. The most recent one was from a dream experience which took me to a libary. I saw one of my friends sitting at a table looking through his books. They seemed to fall under the same category of strange phenomena and supernatural things. One of the books was entitled "No." with big white letters and a book art showing a graveyard with a typhical ghastly theme. The second book had Russian letters all over it. And the third had some intellectual high-standard English title.

      Please, share your observations.

I once dreamed about a chocolate bar called a "Good 'n' Bad Bar". Half of it was chocolate, the other half was cheese.

I would eat the chocolate part, but not the cheese. That is not a good combination.

I remember being at a video store and I saw some people standing next to a desk with movies. I remember looking through them and then some random perosn asked me: "What will it be?". The movies looked really old, but they all seemed to be horror movies. One movie that I remember especially well was one with a bat and a cross, and it was called something horrofying original as: Dark Horror or something. :p

Supernatural phenomenas and horror movies? What's going on in my subcounciousness, I wonder.

I can't think of any wacky title I've seen off hand, but this thread does remind me of something.

When I was in highschool, my psychology teacher taught to the class that it was impossible to read while dreaming. He said that words will just be blurry and jumbled and overall illegible. I didn't believe him, but couldn't think of a specific dream where I could read so I didn't say anything. That night I dreamed I was walking down a street and and read a billboard, that I walked in the school library and browsed some book titles, AND that I was looking through my cell phone reading the names of contacts.. all in the same night! All the words were crystal clear and it's like my subconcious was saying "See! You were right!"

I wish I had said something to my teacher but I was quite shy back in those days... it still makes me angry that he was teaching inaccurate information, and probably still is.

During a dream I decided to browse wikipedia, it resulted in me becoming fixated on a page about Pythagoras. However, in a column down the side of the page were "chat-up lines". One titled romantic, read: "If you key her car, and tell her that 'I can't believe it's not butter, is butter' then she shall always fall for you".

Alas, I've not tried this on a girl yet. Aside from the hysterics, I'll probably walk away like a penguin whilst grasping my wounded nads.

Actually, if you mix Dutch gouda with plain M&Ms, it's actually rather tasty. >_> Gotta get the right kind of cheese, though, or one or the other will overpower it.

But on the topic of reading in dreams, I find it rather hard to focus my attention on it. Mostly I end up with symbols rather than writing, and when it is writing, it's usually numbers. I did attempt to write down something in one of my lucids, though.

My mum told me that the "oranges" were "snoring", so I tried to write it down in hopes that I'd remember it. Seeing as how I tend to remember things better in waking life by writing them.

I think I'll have to test this one out, though. But the whole book and video thing just gave me an excellent idea on a way to change scenes in a dream. Pick up the book or open the video case, hold it above your head like you're sheltering yourself form the rain, and then pull it down over you so that you enter the world that the book/video is set in.

Maybe that would help you to understand what these books with their strange titles are all about.
