Real Life: Dreams for the subconscious?

I'm almost 100% positive I'm not the first to think of this. But what do you think about our real life experiences being dreams for the subconscious? Just as we cannot remember every dream (I'm sure even the best dream recall misses a few dreams) perhaps the subconscious cannot remember what we do during the day. And if this is so, then it begs the question, Does our subconscoius remember much more concerning our dreams than we do consciously? Just as we can recall a great deal in the waking life, perhaps the subconscious can recall a great deal in the dream world. This might also explain why we only sometimes dream of our day's events. Because the subconscious happens to remember that particular event. Just as we can only remember some dreams and not all.

Anyway, I had some extra time and thought I'd post something which was on my mind!

Absolutely. I've always found it most interesting that I recall things in my dreams that I've forgotten in real life.
For instance, I once dreamed that I have been in a coma for 18 years and all my life had been just a dream... but it was all true (life and events had continued as they had when I was part of it) and as I was trying to convince people that I KNEW them and told them secrets I had learned, names and dates came to me with no trouble.
Our subconscience stores all sorts of information that we can't or don't readily access. Imagine how overwhelming it would be if we consciously recalled every second of every day- sights, sounds, smells etc. Our brain processes all of it even if we're not aware of it. That's why the weirdest things sometimes show up in our dreams.
When I interpret my dreams, I think of all the things I had seen, heard and thought of not only the day before but the week before the dream. Over 95% of the time, I can easily find a connection.
