How long do your dreams last?

Mine seem to last either 5 minutes or less...

I don't mean like "Some of my dreams feel like 2 days" but how long the dream actually lasted, if you can tell us that is.

Also, what are some ways to increase dream time?

Recently, my lucids have been a matter of minutes. Regular dreams seem like an hour.

mhmm....I would say for lucids 15-20 minutes. For non-lucids, some are almost an hour long.

      Dream on...

      one
who can only find their way by moonlight,
      and their punishment
is that they see dawn before

Sometimes minutes only, but can be an hour top for me. I am not sure that it can be much longer, though most of my lengthy dreams are around 20-30 min.

It depends on the dream. Some last days(Dream World) but it's hours. A good long dream of my in the real world would last a good 10-11 hours maximum. It would mean it would be a good deal of a dream. Having most of the time my dreams have a message. Some last seconds but give me a good idea of a future. I just need to figure out what it is.

In real time, my general dreams seem only to last a few mins, and the longest one I had recently was 20 mins long where I could remember all parts in a sequence because it was more of a story.

The difficult thing is though, is finding out whether 3 scene changes, for example, counts as one dream if you can't remember waking up inbetween them? I still believe that you can have various scenes within one dream, but it still counts as one session.

... You people shouldn't really be having dreams for "an hour"... At least if you don't get a lot of sleep.

Sleep cycles and more importantly REM cycles get longer during the night. So, the longer you sleep, the more cycles, the longer the cycles, the longer the REM. The longer the dream. tada.
      Bollocks.

my regular non-lucid dreams last about maybe 10-30min maybe an hour. my dreams tend to chain to each other an start right after another dream ends, sometimes i even have two different dreams at once an its like my mind switches between them to show different scenes of each. so if we're counting those as one, then 1hr 30min. max. As for lucids too short D: it seems to be maybe 3-5 min each.

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.

The longest would be about 40 minutes, where it tied in to two separate REM periods. I remember the dream ending and starting back again, with a slightly different focus but I would still consider it one dream split in two. That is probably pushing the limit to what people consider one dream... so I'll say the longest within one REM period would be under 20 minutes ;P
