Lightbulb What is dreaming to you?

Hey guys, ive been reading a few books on lucid dreaming, and having conversations with several people about dreaming. With spiritual enlightment via dreams, insight, inventions, inspiration, mutual dream reports, unexpected DC consciousness, and many more phenomena, do you think dreaming is beyond some mental formation? Is it a reality? Is it what science tells you? Is it a higher consciousness?

I would love to hear what you have to say, I personally am not a huge believer in this is the way it is, or this isnt the way it is, but i love opinion.

Please let me know what you think, no negitivity please

I believe that dreams are our sleeping brains consolidating information. I'm pretty sure that all mammals dream, so this seems to be a fairly safe theory in my mind. Since we spend so much time as infants sleeping, it makes sense that our brains might try to cram as much learning into our heads as fast as possible while we're defenseless. Also, I read somewhere that short term memory gets transferred into long term memory during sleep, so there's that.

I also think that there could be some sort of Jungian thing going on in our subconscious, in that there are universal dream experiences. Being chased, having sex, etc...

I think we need to be really careful in using information we gain from DCs about what dreams are. Dreams are incredibly susceptible to "contamination" from other people. Like if I hear about other people's DCs saying that dreaming is an alternate dimension, then the Law of Expectation makes it entirely possible that my DCs will say the same thing simply because I've heard it before.

My dreams are my gateway to the other dimensions! I travel to other dimensions in my dreams where sometimes I meet people who need my help and other places I can discover and see amazing new things.

Not everyone in the world will die the same way as eachother when they die in there dream. It depends on the person. Or what the dream is. Remember, its all in your mind!

To me, dreams are a skill we've gained (or possibly had) in order to help us survive. During sleep, the mind goes over protocols for what to do in certain situations. This is why we dream about being chased, being in public with out our pants, etc. Also, during dreams, the body seems to secrete chemicals such as adrenaline to help in these tests.
