      Question about Dream Characters?

I have a question about dream characters. When ever you have a dream. You see different people walking around in your dreams and doing other stuff, like talking, etc. What do you think that causes these characters to walk and look around in your mind and talk and stuff? I think its cool that they do that kind of stuff. Makes me wonder what causes them to function and move around like that. Shouldn't they just be just standing still like a statue in your dream and not move around at all? I think its weird. I wonder what those *dream characters* are thinking. Do they think they are alive or something? Makes me wonder.

I think it's just flashes of memory and stuff, all compiled in your head to create an alternate world. If we didn't have streets, and cars and stuff, we wouldn't have those in our heads.

I think it's just what we're used to in waking life.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I agree with you there. Sometimes in my dreams I see places that I've already seen before. And I see people that I've already met before but they act and behave different. It would be cool if you could study the dream while your dreaming.

That's very possible, but for me, it'd be difficult though. I'd just run head-first into trying to complete a dream goal or whatever.

In my mind, dreaming heps function as a place for social practice and exercises. To this extent, people in dreams act pretty normally, but predictions to what people will do are based off of past experience, so are very rarely true-to-life.

normally id agree with the fact its all memories complied together but... ive seen places and things in my dreams i couldnt have ever imagined let alone seen in the real world. i think dreams and dream characters are much more complex than we think...

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.
I think it's in my basement... let me go upstairs and check.

I don't notice people in the background so much, but half the time I end up being the people I interact with.

      ...

Allow me to clarify: A and B are on a quest for the MacGuffin. I am A. I talk to B. Now I'm B. Now I'm A again.

According to my experience, I believe that my DC's are either different aspects of myself or are automatons that react as I (subconsciously) expect them to react. Especially if they're trying to kill me.

I'm not sure if this hypothesis stands up to the dream-antagonist that decided it would be fun to deliberately trap me in a creepy multiple-awakening scenario.
