My dreams are too complex to right down...?

I know this might sound stupid, but every dream I have is very long (well, not really, only seems like it), and they are very very vivid, and have a lot of details that are just too hard to explain on paper. I think I'm just lazy to write any of my dreams down, but I do have good recall, and I should take advantage of that!
But I'm telling you, I don't know how to explain my dreams anymore!!!!

I don't really know what you can do, other than maybe use dream recall as a form of writing practice? Just a suggestion.

      Oh well no shrug smiley.

I've had this problem before. Especially after reading a book or something.

I had some REALLY cool dreams after playing Half-Life 2, but they were long. I summarized them down though. In my opinion, if you get the basic points of the dream down your mind will be able to fill in the rest, and that's as good as writing a novel on the dream.

I have this happen with practically every vivid dream I have

Whenever I sleep the right amount, or get enough REM sleep, my dreams can get ridiculously detailed. I can usually explain the "plot" of the dream, but sometimes its so ambiguous, or too complicated, to explain whats going on. I had this one dream years back where I was in a huge spherical room, and was on a platform that protruded out towards the middle of it, and the gravity on it felt like it was pulling you in different ways at once. I felt like I was about to fall off it, but at the same time I felt like I was being pulled back down to the platform. It was disorientating and unusual to say the least, and it doesn't really make sense when I try to explain it

I just write down keywords and major things that happen.
Sure, not the best, but better than nothing.

The only suggestion I can think of - and it's probably more trouble than you think it's worth - is try to learn how to write. Pick up a book you like and pay attention to how things are described.
My own dreams (when I remember them) are also very detailed, sometimes with very involved plots. I start out by writing the sequences of events like this:

      - guy parked blue car from 70's in front of store
      - old lady rushes out to yell at him...

Next thing I know, memory kicks in turbo mode and I'm launching into full text. It's not unusual for me to end up with four A4 pages or so for what was just a "simple" dream.
But, then again, I like to write.
