I heard that when everything is more or less fine in your life, your dreams cause less stress than in tough times. |

I don't think it is dependant of age. I found it funny that someone would use the phrase "grown out". I just think that for us lucid dreamers nightmares rarely are a problem, since we have become quite adept of understanding and separating waking reality from dream reality. For instance, I think I am always aware that I am dreaming, in some sense, even if I am not lucid. Thus, I am never afraid in my dreams. |
