Well we experience dreams, not only one, throughout the night, and I am sure not all of those involved your girlfriend. |

Okay so I have 2 questions for all of you. But first off let me start with a statement. So I have found something very unique about my dreams. My dreams always revolve around what I was thinking about before falling asleep. Like last night my dream was about this girl I really like. Before I fell asleep I remember thinking that it would suck if she wasn't straight. So then in my dream last night, she starts making out with a girl. I know awkward right. Anyways this leads to my questions. First off does this happen to anyone else? Because when i ask my friends about their dreams, they say they just dream about random stuff that they never thought about at all. And second off is this a type of dream control? I know this is a long post, and thank you for reading it. And I would appreciate it if you respond and tell me what your dreams revolve around. |

To your first question: Yes. I think it's fairly clear that to a certain extent, and though we might not realize it, our dreams reflect something we have experienced, usually recently. It occasionally happens to me that I'll dream of something I was thinking about right before falling asleep, but not always. More generally, I'll dream of something that happened recently or that same day, significant or insignificant. For example, I play a lot of video games, so my dreams usually incorporate some elements from games, especially those I have played recently. |

Wildman thanks for the info, and thanks for your input too suntok123. And to tell the truth for the last 3 months or so, whatever I think about before I fall asleep, is what I dream about. This is how it goes for me, I remember thinking about something before sleep. Then i dream that night. Then i wake up in the morning remembering my dream and how it revolved around what I had thought about before sleep. Sometimes I have multiple dreams about multiple things that I had thought about. Thats what I've noticed over the last couple months. |

^ That's weird but amazing. |

Excellent observation. This happens to everyone. But it only influences your initial dreams for the night. And when it's not the last thing you were thinking about that influences your dreams, then it's the last hypnogogic image you saw them moment before you acquired your dream body. Either way, dreams form around what you have your attention focused on. |
