      Gone! Childhood Dreams...?

like a lot of people, I've had a few reccuring dreams as a child which were very very vivid and understandably stuck with me for what seemed like forever.
I went through a traumatic time in the last 8 months or so (one of my oldest freinds commited suicide, had a lot of stressful educational and social issues, had a semi-epiphany about life, and now am suffering stress due to my exams.) I forgot about dreaming completey and gave up on it for a while. but now I find that I've almost completely forgotten some dreams that I could remember when I was a child and recently I even had to ask my freinds about what they were, because these dreams meant things to me that I'd like to cherish and remember. Yes, I know, I screwed up when I didn't write them down. But nowadays it seems I'm not having dreams nearly as vivid -or as affecting and thought provoking- as I did say, 6 years ago (when I was in primary school).

So do you think I'll ever have dreams again like I did when I was a child? I had a fervent passion for dreams and I think I still do, but, I just need to let it out again
      discuss?

      Thanks!

You've already acknowledged the stress in your life, and stress is an incredibly hindrance on dream recall, clarity and vividness. It is not unusual to be "out of the loop" in regards to dreams when you have other things on your mind. The most important thing to remember is don't stress yourself out about going through a dry spell; it'll be counter-intuitive.

The dreams will return. What were some of the things that stood out to you about your childhood dreams?

I look at the whole affair like supper. I do not eat to remember the taste for I know the real memory is the effect the food had on my body.

There is a tendancy, in all of us, to confuse the messanger with the message.

I remember a quote, if I can trust my memory, "Are not our lessons sealed in a dream?" Job.

One thing I like to believe, the dreams we make and try to make are more important than a dream given.

Check out Self Analysis (http://books.google.com/books?id=QBO40d7vMX0C), much of the book is available in the preview.

I've been doing the stuff in this book and it has been frustrating to do for me, I've been very lazy with it and might only do a few questions in a day before I get frustrated and I wander off.

Despite that, it has helped my memory. I can be doing a list and just suddenly remember something that happened that I haven't thought about in many years.

For example: The time when I was 3 and I left the jar of jelly on the window sill because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to put it in the fridge. Everyone made a big deal about it and acted as if I was stupid and that it should have been obvious to me. There was just too much I didn't know and couldn't have known, like why it can be left out sometimes and sometimes not(No concept of "Refrigerate after opening" items.).

Also new things will come up, not just the things I remembered while doing the exercises.

While laying down to sleep I have suddenly remembered dreams I haven't thought of in ages and possibly hadn't even remembered after waking up.
