I'm interested in sleep paralysis too and as far as I understand it's a sleeping state whereby your body switches off but the brain can still be active. I'm not really sure past that basic understanding. I had a dream a couple of nights ago which started with sleep paralysis and my realization that I had tipped into this sleeping state. I definitely became lucid (my first self induced one :-) ) as then I had imagery of a corridor and then dreaming I couldn't breath properly, then panicking and purposely trying to wake myself up due to this panic. I expected to have a DILD as my first lucid but I think I almost arrived in sleep conscious. I haven't seen Inception yet but looking forward to it |
