Thread: I can't believe I missed my Reality Check!!!

Hi all,

I'm new here, I only found out about Lucid Dreaming 5 days ago but have become really interested. So, I'm taking all the beginner steps, keeping a dream journal, reality checks, telling myself I will be aware of my dreams etc.

Anyway, I occasionally remember my dreams but not that often. But the last 2 mornings I've woken up and with a little bit of concentration I've been able to recall alot of detail from the previous nights dreams.

I wont bore you with too much detail but from my latest dream(s) I remembered what I ordered in a restaurant, people from my real life that appeared and I have remembered lots of colour - the colours of cars that were significant to the dream, the colours of clothes that I and others were wearing for example.

But the really interesting bit (for me at least) is that in my dream, I performed a reality check without meaning too! I was trying to read the back of what I think was a DVD boxset but I couldn't...I could make out some words but the sentences were all over the place...I just couldn't make head nor tail of it. At this point I should have said to myself "woahh hold on a minute, this must be a dream, quick stick your fingers through your left hand" but I didn't, I completely missed it and then woke up.

Kinda annoyed with myself, but excited at the same time. I just hope that next time something like this happens I can realise that I'm dreaming.

Those of you that are now experienced with LD, have you had similar experiences to this? Need a bit more practice I guess. Any tips? I'd love to hear about your early experiences.
