      Returning once again..

Well, I found out about lucid dreaming around December '09, and I was planning on trying it out and practicing and stuff, but was too lazy. I'm planning on actually trying it again after watching Inception. I've already started my journal.
My first question: Will someone remind me on what all the things are, like paralysis, how to lucid dream, etc?
My second question: After watching Inception, I got reminded about lucid dreaming. It basically inspired me to actually give this a try. I'm wondering, did Inception just take the concept of lucid dreaming and and just regular dreaming in general and make it into an awesome movie?

      Limen123!

      1. No, unless you ask more specific questions. Otherwise, check out the tutorial section.
      2. I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. Inception is a completely fictional movie with some inspiration from lucid dreaming.

Welcome back Limen123! I'm just returning from a hiatus as well. As XeL said the Tutorial section is a great place to refresh your memory. Also, I just picked up LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming for about the 3rd time. It is a great book and always gets me thinking about LDing again, which in turn actually boosts my LD rate! Anywho, good luck with your journey into LDing.

      1. Well, what's the paralysis state(or whatever it is)? I've seen it around the forums back then, and was wondering what it's about.

      2. And that's what I was asking about. If it had some sort of inspiration from LDing.

Thanks for the replies and the WBs guys!

I'm interested in sleep paralysis too and as far as I understand it's a sleeping state whereby your body switches off but the brain can still be active. I'm not really sure past that basic understanding. I had a dream a couple of nights ago which started with sleep paralysis and my realization that I had tipped into this sleeping state. I definitely became lucid (my first self induced one :-) ) as then I had imagery of a corridor and then dreaming I couldn't breath properly, then panicking and purposely trying to wake myself up due to this panic. I expected to have a DILD as my first lucid but I think I almost arrived in sleep conscious. I haven't seen Inception yet but looking forward to it

Lucid dream is one of the activity which indicate all of the thought. I am still using this dream. I think that highrik has felt very panic and also strange dreams. I like the most part in the lucid dreams is that our brain can still activate. So that In such type of situation, It should be pinch out for the panic. So I like it.

Yes.. I've had sleep paralysis a few time before, but before I became interested in developing the skill of lucid dreaming. Each time I think I panicked and tried to wake myself up. This last one was different in that I attempted to control my dream.. though unsuccessfully. Despite my panic I'm very pleased with it because I was conscious of it and tried to take control.. I will do better next time
